I don't have my whole trip typed out. I made general journal entries, and one was specific to each park. 2 entries a day, with lots of family stuff mixed in. So I picked it apart and here is my day at the park. Day one of an 8 day trip.Tuesday, 7/15/03 11:30 PM Night 1Wow! What a day. We got to the park at 2:30 PM. A Tuesday at Darien Lake is fantastic. The park wasn't too busy at all. We introduced my mom to S:RoS. In a half hour we got two rides. The airtime is great on that ride. This is one of my favorite steel coasters. While in line, it got stuck 3 times, 2 of which I was on.Next we went to Predator > which my dad mistakenly called Renegade. (I don't know how you get that one!) The name stuck. My mom didn't really like the ride. I rode in car 2, first row and it was rough. My dad and Nick rode back seat and got the crap beaten out of them. We headed towards the Twister, but caught a ride on the pirate ship that sucked. Too short of a ride, and you never got "swing time." We went and rode Twister, a Huss topspin, and got two rides. This is neatly themed, but not as good as Texas Twister. We went and rode the Viper, which was a great ride. I love Arrow coasters!!! After that we rode the swinging Inverter ship. It was awesome. Ranger was a lot of fun and we rode it a tong of times. After that, we rode the Scrambler. It was so funny and I laughed the whole time. There was an old man that went "oh" the whole time and his wiry hair got messed up. We rode the UFO, a stand-up enterprise. That ride is great too. So many good rides at SFDL. Next was dinner. What an event. No, first we got S:RoS postcards. One for my dad, Sandy @ SFWoA, Patrick, and I. Okay, back to dinner. It was insane. The picnic area was very trashy. The "Poopy Pavillion" or better known as "Sunshine Lake" had all burnt up and pooped on picnic tables. It was bad. In the parking lot we got some good shots of S:RoS. My dad busted out the camera. He got some random funny footage. Good times. From there - another S:RoS ride. One train op now. The blue one "got stuck too much on the lift", so they removed it. The wait was an hour now. In hopes of riding something with a short line, we went to Viper. It messed my mom up. After that it began to rain. What luck. It rained on Day 1. We weren't expecting it. So, we got 3 rides on Ranger. At 8 something we headed to S:RoS and got a rainy ride. It was so misty and rainy. Great ride! At 9:15 we got in line for our final ride, waited 35 mins, were 2 rides from riding and lightning struck. What a disappointment. We had park maps to shelter us from the rain. We survived as we ran to the van. The alarm goes off for SFNE at 8 tomorrow. So, all is well despite our disappointing rainy evening. We're all a little wet, but enthusiasm is still very high and we're excited for tomorrow.Edit* Thanks for hurting your eyes with that. It transfers funny from my Word Processor. Sorry about that. Dave says it's great as long as all the "letters are there!"
