June 5 - A great way to celebrate the end of the school year

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby [jonrev] on June 5th, 2006, 11:04 pm
Today was my last day of school and I decided to spend the rest of the day at the park. Unfortuneately I couldnt get there until about 5 but oh well.

First up was:
Image
Orbit is running really good this season. I dont know why but it seems to spin faster.

Next was a ride on Demon which was fun. Barely any line for back row. Sort of rough today though. :(

I decided to ride River Rocker for the first time this year and all I have to
say about it is Why is the little pool never filled with water?!
Image
Has there ever been water in here?

Got some rides on Giant Drop, Chubasco (twice), Viper back row, and Trail Blazer (since Papas and Binks Drake were there). None of them really had a bad line. Giant Drop was running all of the cars today so the line moved somewhat fast.

So let me get this straight... SWF doesnt run in 80* Sunny weather? So do I have to come back when there's a Tornado Watch or something? :)

Hey Director Guy, I found another one of your stickers:

Everything in CF was kind of crowded so Steve decided to try out DDR (he completed the first stage but failed the second one) then rode the train. I got these photos.

Triple Play is still in pieces

Shot these photos from Sky Trek.

Pictorium has a new banner up. (I watched it last Monday and I thought it was pretty good.)
Image

SHOCKWAVE!!!!!!!!!!!
Image

Rode CONDOR. Nothing special.

WTF is with the styrofoam pieces all over the park???? (There was a crapload of them by Giant Drop and more by Superman)
Image

Rode Superman in back row.

Dear SFGAm, Please repaint Superman's station...
Image

Wasn't this the Toonite Show last week?
Image

After riding King Chaos once and V2 SIX times and watching the parade, it was time to leave.

The End.

Crowds were not really bad today. Walkons for nearly every ride. Revy is STILL closed!

I wish I shot more photos.

To answer some of your questions...

Yes there has been water in there. No there most likely won't be again.

Those beads usually come from the giant stuffed animals and when one gets a little hole it makes a huge mess everywhere.

The Toonite Show has been renamed to Looney Tunes Tonight.

And don't expect Revolution for a long long time.

Haha that styrofoam stuff is from this kid that was carrying around one of those huge stuffed animals and it had a hole in it. I was by Hometown Funnel Cake when I saw him with it.

The shockwave pic is behind the carousel and there are a bunch a pictures on the different sections of the park from some years ago. It is cool to look back in time though.

I think its funny that there is steam or something coming from the wheels on the ride, and thats basically what doomed the ride back in 2002.

They had water in there the first year that southwest territory opened. Maybe even the 2nd year. After that its been empty ever since.

Why dont they ever fill it or at least change the name since there's no "River" there any more.
