May 27th 2006-1st on Vu!!!

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby themanoftheland8 on May 29th, 2006, 4:44 pm
It started out at about 9:45, when we walked into the park. I'm not sure if this has been done yet this year, but we were able to walk to the entrance of the rides before opening instead of being forced to watch the opening ceremony. We went to get in line for Bull, and heard some good news from a friend, Vu would definately be open today (although I was fairly sure of that already). We got in the line for Bull, and took a ride on back row for the start of the day.

We then went on Drop, where I heard John say my saying, "Once you drop, you just can't stop!" After that, we got 2 Demon, AEB, Wolf, King Chaos, got our free flash passes and did Superman, another Drop, Raging Bull, and then decided to use my coupon for 2 free games at Blockbuster in County Fair (this was at about 12:30). I threw, and completely missed the blocks. Good thing I didn't pay for that. Then my friend threw, though, and it was quite possibly the slowest throw I have ever seen, but somehow, he knocked em all off!!! After much laughing hysterically, we decided on the massive SuperDog for the prize (so if anyone saw a guy walking around with that, it was me)

We got a few more rides in (can't remember the order), until it was a little past 2:00 and we got in line for the Demon. Amy was working the mic, and as soon as she saw me lugging this dog in line, she started laughing. The next spiel she gave went like this, "Please remember to set all loose articles, including hats, glasses, cell phones, bags, and any BIG STUFFED ANIMALS off to the side before you ride." So, we set our dog on the side as normal. When we came back, however, it wasn't there. Naturally, we assumed either someone stole it or Amy hid it. So, we asked her, and she played stupid. It took us a good 2 minutes to get her to give it back to us.

By now, were were very hungry, and decided to head off to BK for lunch. It was good.

We got back at about 3:15, only to notice that Vu must have had a miscatch, because it was stuck between the loop and the second tower. So, we hopped on the Whizzer because the line was fairly short. When we got to the top of the lift, Vu was back up and testing again. We were incredibly excited, so we went to wait in line for it, hoping to be the first ones to get on. By the time we got there, there must have been at least 20 people in front of us, and I started to cry (not really). Luckily, people are very impatient, and a bunch of em left in 5-10 minutes, making us fifth and sixth in line. Still hoping to get to the front, we tried to dissuade the 2 girls and 2 guys in front of us from standing in line, saying things like, "Why are we even waiting here, it's going to be at least 2 hours until this hunk of junk even opens."

It didn't work, but after 20 minutes more, (and watching Brad ride it all by himself), it opened up. While walking up there, we decided to go back row, assuming the kids in front of us would take front row. When we got to the station, the girls immediately ran to the back row. The guys, for some increadibly strange reason, ran to row 3. (Honestly, who goes to the middle??????) This meant that row 1a was open for us, giving us the first dispatch of 2006 in the FRONT ROW!!!!!!

We had so much fun on Vu, that we decided to go again. With no fault to the Vu Crew, it played the temporary delay speech after the 3rd Dispatch :x After about 10 minutes, and numerous people leaving the line, it was back up and running. We got on again at about the 10th or 11th dispatch in row 1B--1 train wait.

I am going to take this opportunity to say something that is really starting to tick me off--Disability passes. If they are used correctly, I don't mind em. But when people come up the exit with nothing wrong with em, such as Director Guy did, and get on the fourth train for Vu while I am waiting for over half an hour, it makes me want to rip their heads off. There was also another group of guys (who were apparently disabled) who I saw use it for nearly every ride--Bull twice. I really think Six Flags has got to fix this, but I just can't figure out a way. Possibly require a doctors note or something of that sort?

(Is it just me, or are people getting dumber? There was a 1 train wait for every row, including the front, and still people avoid it.) Another great ride, but it had another mispark when we got back. Brad and John were on top of this, though, and they had it up and running in no time. We got off, and there must have only been 3 or 4 more trains to go, because at this time, it started to pour. All the coasters closed for about an hour.

We finished off the day with 3 more drops, a Viper, and a Bull.

Overall: Good day, fairly heavy crowds

oooh, stop ur braggin! ha!, just kidding. I watched Vu miscatch a lot that day, especially in the morning. Being held in carousel plaza is nothing new, they do that every weekend starting this season. It makes the run longer, but i like seeing the show, and talking to the characters on the right side (the director and his assistant)

Good thing you rode Vu already.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Hey now... you have no way of knowing that there's nothing wrong with me or someone else in my group. Be nice.
