5/13/06- Empty park after 5:30

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby themanoftheland8 on May 13th, 2006, 11:52 pm
This was my third trip of the season, and easily the best of the three. If you don't want to read all the comments, I posted a total at the end.

For my TR, however, since I can't remember the order of all the rides, I will just list the ride totals and say some highlites of each of them.

American Eagle--1 Chose to go red today, due to the fact that it had a shorter line. We realized we chose wrong, because it was only running 1 train op, while blue was doing 2. :?

Viper--1 Good ride, back row, lots of air. Need I say anything else? Oh, yeah, and there was a grouper!!!!!

Superman--1 Longest wait of all the coasters. Back row. Nothing special.

Whizzer--1 Well, Again, not much to say about this ride. I dont know, after Raging Bull, it just seems, ummm... for lack of a better term, slow.

Iron Wolf--2 Possibly the slowest moving crew of my life. Seemed to take at least 5 minutes to send of every train. I noticed the sheet on the side for their goal per hour was 550ish, and they were acheiving about 350. Not good.

Raging Bull--2 Would have gone more, but the line seemed so long. All the way to the bottom of the stairs. SHEESH!!!

V2--8 Three in a row at the end of the day, the rest of the 5 were dispersed throughout the day. As far as I know, the line for this never got much past the entrance to the station. Another grouper here!!!!

Demon--25 Great rides on this, mostly back row. Brings my Demon total for the year up to 75!!! This was easily the least busy ride of the day. Never more than a 2 train wait.

Batman--45 (you know, if you read my first TR or if you've figured it out, for the 45th anniversary) Well, we got all of these rides on BTR after about 6:00. We had been avoiding it all day due to the fact that the line was ALL THE WAY TO THE TUNNEL!!! Anyways, the park seemed to be emptied out after about 5:30. I'm not sure if many of the school groups that were there had to leave then or what, but I wasn't about to complain. We broke this marathon up into two parts. The first set, we got 24 in a row, and the second set, we got 21 in a row. (DUH!!)

Flats:5-- Giant Drop--3 (great crew) Orbit--2 (still only 18 and 3/4 rotations :? )

Overall, this was the best day of the season so far as far as ride counts go. At opening, there were probably about 50 cars and 50 buses in the parking lot. Great day.

Total Coasters: 86
Total Flats: 5
Total Rides: 91
Coasters Ridden: 131
Top 5: Maverick, El Toro, Voyage, Fahrenheit, Dominator

I've tried....but I can't figure out how you guys get on these rides so many times. It takes us a few hours just to work our way around one lap. What are we doing wrong?

See, from what it looks like, you always go with a big group, and that's what holds down the re-rides. Going with one or two people, you can usually both seat hop.

Well, in response to that, you just have to know the right time to get on the rides. Also, if there are open seats after you finish riding, go on again. For instance, Batman is usually empty at the end of the day, allowing you to get multiple re-rides in. V2 is the same way. Also, realize that walking around the loop once could add up to about 10 rides on one ride if you continue re-riding. Anyways, hope it helps!

^ I still think you are pretty amazing. Not only did you ride Batman 45 times, but you rode Demon 25. I couldn't take the headache that would cause me!

Next weekend will be hard to do it. I know of at least 6 busses coming on Saturday and another 4 on Sunday, all from Northwestern. The next weekend will be more crowded than the previous.

Also, it isnt that hard to re-ride all those rides. Demon 67 times in one day didnt hurt at all last year. Then SUF 55 times and BTR 30 in one day last year also doesnt hurt. Just gotta be there in smaller groups or alone, and it is a lot easier for re-rides.
