Finally back at home! 5-7-06

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Trailblazer Tony on May 8th, 2006, 12:42 am
So i got up this morning and headed over to my friend Greg's house at around 8:30 and left for the park. We got there right around 10:00, parked his PT Cruiser, and headed through the gates where we were immediately approached by the farmer. A very interesting character, and kind of a nice start to our day.

First, we headed over to Superman for a 30 minute wait for front row. It was one of the best rides i had ever had on Superman and a great way to start the day.

Next we went over to Hometown Square where we got our passes processed and started towards our next ride. We hopped in line and waited 5 minutes for row 6 on Raging Bull. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get more than one click on my friend so we hopped ride off without riding. No biggy though.

From here we headed over to American Eagle. 10 minute wait for a row towards the back on the red side. Okay, so the whole time while we were in line, they did not race AT ALL, but for our ride, they decided to race us which was pretty cool. I honestly didn't notice much of a difference on that ride, which kind of let me down. Never the less, still a good ride and the paint looked nice.

After lunch at Papa John's Pizza by Eagle we rode Iron Wolf in 2nd row with a 5 minute wait. As usual, i always walk up to this ride hoping to enjoy myself for once on it, but as always, i end up leaving thinking "why did i just ride that" and praying to God that i can still have kids some day. :)

Next was Batman, which was a 5 minute wait for front row. This was my favorite ride EVER on Batman!! It had amazing speed and airtime (which was new to me) and it was the first time since the new paint job that i didn't come close to blacking out so, yeah, great ride.

Next was Ragin Cajun which was a 20 minute wait. It was, as usual, an awesome time! We took a pretty good picture and we had some fun watching the Jester on the bouncing stilts while we waited in line.

From here it was getting a little hot so we decided to ride Space Shuttle America which only had a one show wait. I was pretty upset with this one today, i ain't gonna lie. First of all, the air condition wasn't on, but at least it was a break from the sun. Second of all, once we were in the simulator room. We could hear the sound and feel the seats move, but the movie part didn't even come on until we were flying through space. oh well, really bad experience i hope.

Next was my buddy Whizzer. As usual with this one we had a very nice, comfy, and amazing ride with only a 1 train wait for a middle row.

From here we went on Viper. It was a 2 train wait for back row and it was one of the best Viper experiences ever! This ride is definitely on it's game this year, that's for sure!

Then, to live up to my name, we enjoyed a nice walk-on, peaceful ride on the Trailblazer.

Next came the Demon to energize us again. It was a 10 minute wait for front row. They were playing the Demon song and still had the logos on the front of the train so all was good and it was a pretty smooth ride. However, no lights in the tunnel and no waterfall by the corkscrew made me a little sad inside. :(

Next on the list was Orbit. One cycle wait for a great ride. Definitely liked the new light package, too bad we didn't see it lit up. Also, the ride op kept making fun of me for wearing a universal hoody and hat today and he looked familiar, anyone here?? He was running Demon, but somehow followed us over to Orbit.

From here we headed over to get another ride on Batman in front row. It was a 3 train wait and while in line we met a nice kid and future coaster lover who rode with us since his dad had a recent injury on his arm. Another great Batman ride, definitely running well today!

From here, we rode one final ride with Justin and his dad (who hopefully took my advice and gave this site a spin today  ) and enjoyed a second to last row ride on Vertical Velocity. It was his first time on V2 and he loved it so, yeah, i guess that made the ride even funner. V2 had a 10 minute wait and while in line i happened to notice that Superman was stuck on the lift hill.

Well, it was around 4 o'clock and we were ready to mosy on back home so we took one final back row ride on Viper after another 3 train wait. Not nearly as good of a ride as the first time, but what can you do.

So that was about it for the day, we had wonderful weather, short lines, and we met a cool little future coaster lover and his very nice dad and grandma. Not a bad day at all! Grand prize however definitely goes to that Jester! 8)

That's weird.... the red side was closed when I got there.

I rode it before noon so it might have closed early on in the day. It was only running one car when i was there too, so Eagle Red wasn't really all that great today.

I went yesterday for the first time in 2 years and got a seasons pass.
In only 4 hours (all rides only once):
Demon
Viper
GD
RB
AE:B
IW
V2
B:TR
Ragin Cajun
Roaring Rapids
SSA
Superman

Someone barfed on AE:B right before us and my friend dropped his phone on Superman so we spent an hour trying to find the proper authorities.

*My pass paid for itself as we left the park without getting our hands stamped and went to guest relations where they told us to go back in the park (used my pass for a second visit) and go to lost&found.

Question..were you in line when the bouncing Jester guy tried getting thru the employee gate?

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

I don't remember seeing you, but the Jester was a great distraction to the hot sun.
