We arrived at the park at about 10:20 AM. The regular lot wasn't even halfway full, although we were a bit disconcerted by the full marching band entering the park. The sky looked a little cloudy, but I was optimistic. We got inside the park without having to wait in line, and headed for Hometown Square to pick up my parking pass and coupon books. The line for that was pretty long, so we decided to go on Whizzer.
I dunno, but it seemed like Whizzer is kind of rusty and in need of some paint. Still a good ride, though.
After that, it was a one-cycle wait for back row of Viper, and then about a three-cycle wait for the back row of Raging Bull. In the middle of the ride on RB it started to rain a bit.
They were only running half of Giant Drop.
After the ride on Giant Drop, it was time for the Justice League's arrival into the park. It wasn't that exciting, they came in on parachutes and landed on the Hometown Square Station. While people were paying attention to that, we took the opportunity to pick up my parking pass and our coupon books.
Back row of Demon was a walk-on; they were still playing the Demon theme song, but that seemed to be the only vestige of original/Frightfest themeing.
Deja Vu was closed. I rode the blue side of Eagle in a whole new way: going forward. Red and Blue raced, Blue won. It was an interesting experience, but I hope to get the chance to ride it backwards at least once this year, without having to wait til FF.
Following that was a particularly painful jaunt on Iron Wolf. Yet I still always get talked into riding it. Oh well
V2 was running, which was good. There was a grouper there this year, and it did make things more organized. We topped that off with a walk-on on Batman, and a swing on Whirligig. Ragin' Cajun's line was unjustifiably long, despite the general non-crowdedness of the park, so we didn't even bother with that. King Chaos was also closed. I'm getting a little fed up with the Mardi Gras area in general. I'm not one of those people screaming for a 4D to be put in RC's place, but I expect some level of consistency with the rides. We've already been through this with DV. I chalk it up to Opening Day kinks, but even Deja was open last year. But I digress.
We ended the day with Superman and Rue Le Dodge, and a game of air hockey. We left early, but it was starting to rain harder at 4:30.
It was sad driving away and not being able to stop for a bite at Wendy's. R.I.P. Value Menu. McDonald's doesn't hold a greasy candle to you.
Edit: I forgot, we also rode Fiddler's Fling, and I waited while a certain someone else rode Orbit.

Sounds like a short day, but at least you got to hit most of the rides..
I was there opening day too, and Ragin Cajun was the first ride we hit, only because everyone else was running off towards Superman and Raging Bull.. I heard that it's the 25th anniversary of American Eagle, which is why they're running it forward. They weren't racing while I was there; they purposefully held the opposite train back until the first train left the station. Very disappointing.... You should have stayed until the rain passed--the whole park was practically deserted after that, and you could walk onto any ride you want, without getting off until the park closed. Eagle will run foreward for the whole year, they are running it the way it was designed. Don't expect it to run backwards for maybe another 5+ years.
Cajun has a long line due to its hourly capacity, which is not very high. And King Chaos... well its King Chaos... Don't expect anything to really happen in the Mardi Gras area as its one of the more family friendly areas, and with the new management, expect to see more like it. Licensed Mechanical Engineer

Maybe, Six Flags doesn't want to get sued anymore. Maybe, it has nothing to do with it going backwards, but it's a precaution. Yeah, this is awhile ago, but there are new people in charge. It was like the Raging Bull thing without being fatal.

That had no factor, look at the year. There are other reasons, nothing that had a negative factor to make AEB forwards, if some people stopped trying to over think things, they will understand their reasoning.

I agree with that. I try not to overthink these things...I know it's all about marketing.
The rain makes the rides fun, but I don't enjoy being soggy. 
But hey, it keeps the crowds away.
Normally I woudn't want to get too soggy, but it was inevitable, so we rode on Demon in the middle of all the rain. It was definitely worth it, even while being wet.
