Disney's California Adventure 3/19-21

Let us know how your day at the park was.

A suprising fun ride that didn't seem that it would be was the Ferris Wheel. I know, it's a freakin Ferris Wheel called the Sun Wheel. The cars in the middle of the wheel actually move along a track instead of just staying put in place. I'm one that never goes on Ferris Wheels at carnivals at all. So, in my opinion it was pretty fun.

There is a part in this park that is basically copied off of MGM studios. This is where they put Monsters Inc ride, Muppet 3d Vision, Tower of Tower, and an Aladdin show. I went on Monsters Inc and it was just okay. It was quite crowded though. The ride was about the human kid getting lost, and thus the people are actually the "aliens" while the monsters are not. It wasn't that great to wait 40 minutes.

On Tower of Terror, there were three elevators compared to four at MGM even though there were two floors compared to one. They don't have that part where the car moves forward and see like stars. In other words, the car only goes up and down and forward. The first scene going up is the mirror in which you look like a ghost. You drop down until you see the ghosts of the lady, and the three other people with her. After the dude says something about you are entering the twilight zone and you see white lights without moving forward, you then drop as the other one does.

The doors at the top open twice on each time you ride. The first time is the photograph. All the elevators have the same program compared to the four programs at MGM. This ride was really fun, but the line is sort of off balanced. They put you in a room like the other one. There is a portrait of a dude (After this room you stay downstairs.) and there is a hot portrait of a lady (After the room, you go upstairs). I went on it twice.

I really didn't see anything different about Muppet Vision, and I didn't want to see a show about Aladdin.

They have a land full of bugs including the same ride as Animal Kingdom "It's tough to be a bug." This ride scares the heck out of me in a fun way. You never really know what's coming until you've been on it enough. You get sprayed by the stink bug, watered on by another bug, and the bugs leave the audiotorium befoer you do. Won't little kids getting nightwares about this.

The Flik's Flyers are the Zamperla Balloons. They look like Balloons (not really but I don't know what to call them), but the cool things are the seats. They are like cookie boxes, and chinese takeout. This shows that the bugs picked stuff out of the garbage canl, and made a contrapation. That's the theme. It makes music everytime it goes, and you hear bugs.

Each lamp is themed to a lightning bug. I don't really think people make this area too much. People despise bugs! The bumper cars were kind of slow, and thus we choose to take a ride on them at SFMM instead. There was another ride that looked like the Tea Cups.

I didn't get a chance to get on the Rapids ride, and this partly because it was quite cold, and there was enough time. Again, I saved this for SFMM "Roaring Rapids" instead. I also went on the California Screamin'. It was an Intamin alright, and it wasn't that bad even though it wasn't the greatest most superb rollercoaster in the park. It was too smooth for the airtime to count. The line ranged from 35 to about 20.

I tested rcdb.com theory about trains coming out the gate at 38 minutes, and that was true except for that it was about every other time. It was about 38, 1:13, 38, and about 1:03. They had two green, two blue, and one yellow train at a time. Both sides were open. The camelbacks seemed like a waste. I thought the loop would be a little more closer to Mickey's face, but it wasn't.

They had a parachute ride that I didn't go on, and they had the Orange Stinger. This ride was basically your Zierer Wave Swinger (Whirlgig). I want to go on the real Whirlgig again. I went on this ride around 2 or 3 times. They also had some stupid ride that was supposedly at Riverview before which I choose to avoid.

Now, are you ready for the gem of the park. It is simply the Mouse coaster called Mullhouland Madness. The first time for the ride we waited quite a bit. It took about 40 minutes to get on one ride. However, I found the single rider line later on. This is a better idea because it cuts down the line to about 5-10 minutes. 3s are good. Then, I get to go. The people would get a little mad at me because I was just on the ride, but an empty seat is an empty seat. I can't remember how many times I've been on that ride but it was enough. In case your wondering it was in the single digits.

The one day that ride was broke, and I really wanted to get on it. We waited about 35 minutes for the ride to open, and my brother is like, "Let's go to the other park. We don't have much time left at the Disneyland resort." Thankfully, there was a shop next to the ride, and he and my dad were looking at buying sunglasses. Right after he left the line, the ride opened, and I kept on going on it until they were done shopping. Thank goodness for that shop.

I still think I like the Disneyland park better than Disney's California Adventure even though both parks are really good. The problems with both were Space Mountain (awful=boring), and Snow White's Scary Adventure (You didn't get see Snow White again in the story ending). The Carousel of Progress was also transformed into something junky (innoventions).

Lastly, I like the fact that they combined four parks into two for the most part. I would have maybe done it a little differently but they choose to do it this way.

My parents said that they used to have this ride at Riverview. Now, it might be the same exact ride or it might not be.

Oh yea, that's a replica of the Strat-O-Stat that used to operate at Riverview.

I agree with you on the It's Tough to be a bug show. The show is crazy and I can see how a lot of kids get scared. Especially with the spiders, bee sting, and when the bugs leave at the end. Gotta love it though. 8)
