After I got done reading this I sat a my desk and I thought about what the new coaster could be. Then I reread it and thought some more. Is it just me or does it sound like they are talking about DeJa Vu?
^Sounds like Vu to me..BUT it seems like they are changing the vehicles. I don't think it's the actual Vu from SFOG though. Only because that one was 177'. You can check the stats out here; http://www.rcdb.com/id1040.htm
Which park is this Vu From....we saw were SFGAM's vu went to, who's vu is this? And why are the VU's having better success at other parks. What did six flags due wrong?
^I don't think that Six Flags took enough care of it. I don't no if this is vu but if it is it will be the vu from SFOG.
^^ Maybe it is not the same as vu, but it sure sounds like the same layout exept shorter lift tower. I also noticed that the vehicles are different too.
This rebellious 125-foot-tall steel coaster will stand as the second tallest coaster in the park. This large new addition will hover near the entrance of Boomerang Bay, and, coincidentally, happens to be a “boomerang” coaster, meaning that it will travel the same track forwards and backwards.
Sorry, it's not a Super Boomerang..but at least it confirms that it will indeed be a regular one.
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
Cedar Fair is into Wild Animals huh? with Carolina Cobra, Diamondback, and Prowler.
I don't know about the "Carolina" Part of The Name. The Park has 2 Coaster and other Rides with Carolina in the Name. So I wonder if that's going to create any confusion.
Too bad they didn't go with the New Lap Bar Only Trains but at least its less than The Bulky Ones.
Please Let Demon get these type of trains in 09. Something similar for Iron Wolf as well.
^dude.. Don't be sorry. Has an announcement been heard yet? I agree with you, it did sound that way. But then I went to the facts about Vu and saw that it wasn't.
Anyways, excited to see what type of new trains they will have.
This is Geauga Lakes, which was absolutely terrible. in my opinion headbanging was never the main problem on Boomerangs general roughness and headaches from bouncing around was, so the new trains will make the ride more tolerable however I still wouldnt expect it to be any good. The restraints do look strikingly similar to the restraints on B&M flyers.
B&M flyer vests are a Vekoma product. I would say all the large Arrow Loopers should get these trains, but there really arent a heck of a lot left. Basically Viper at SFMM, GASM at SFGAdv, Anaconda at Kings Dominion and Vortex at PKI.

I wouldn't call Demon an off the shelf loopscrew. It does have more to it and is one of only 2 of its kind in layout. Demon would be worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
There are a few others with a nearly identical layout to Demon including Carolina Cyclone at Carowinds. The real question here is, if they added those trains to Demon, would it be marketable? Could they justify spending millions of dollars on 2 or 3 new trains for a 32 year old coaster? One new SLC train with those restraints is just a hair over a million dollars according to Moreys, who opted instead to retrofit the new cars onto the existing chassis. Sit down train would certainly be less, but I cant imagine it'd be a heck of a lot less.

Based on what you say, would it be marketable to invest in new trains on the big Arrow loopers like Viper, Vortex, or Great American Scream Machine?
My money would be on Demon more then the others based on the lower height requirement. At 42" for Demon, it's more family coaster appealing with 4 loops over the others.
Granted, I don't think any of the above mentioned coasters would get the retrofit, but I would take Demon if the possibility was there.
