Our Dreams

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I want to know what rides you want and where you would put them - This is not about rumors and I dont want rumors, but I want your opinion. Since this is an opinion forum it shouldnt be locked. I want this to be fun - If you think it would never happen say it anyway (within reason)I would love to see a new floorless coaster. The problem I have is that there really isnt the room. I would also like to put the coaster in the back of the park to draw people. This is where it gets fun - I would take out SSA and the Winners Cirlce. I would move if possible Camp Cartoon Network to that space in the front of the park b/c1. Parents wouldnt have to walk their kids to the back of the park.2. Easy access for parents to the parking lot.3. Camp Cartoon Network doesn't belong in Yukon TerritoryThe space of Camp Cartoon Network, the old diving pool, and some of Picnic Grove would be enough space for the coaster. If you wanted to (I Don't) you can rip out Iron Wolf for more space to save Picnic Grove. You base the Coaster with the proper settings in Yukon Territory and poof thats what I would do.

They could take out the Wilderness theater. When was the last time that was used? Two problems: I think it is too close to the residential areas and any new ride built means hiring more people.

Well Biggy its just that you sometimes get a little crazy and do things that you shouldn't. You are rude and you don't let anyone have fun

Okay if they move Camp Cartoon Network then they might as well move Looney Toons National Park. If CCN is in the front then the families will still have to walk to the back to go to LTNP.Heres my idea: Take out the Wilderness theater and put in some flats. Take out SSA and TWC and put in a floorless. Leave the kids area alone. If possible extend the park across the highway and add a new territiry over their with a few flats and a rocket coaster. The next year add a giga coaster.

I agree that seperating the kid ares wouldn't be that smart, but a new coaster can not be placed at the front of the park. You already have superman and its line is always in the plaza. Think of having the other side of the plaza crowded due to a new ride - It would be a messI picked that area of the park b/c if I get off Eagle and want to ride Batman I walk by Iron Wolf an V2. I will not do Iron Wolf more than once a trip and I don't really care about V2. Now walking from Batman to Superman there is nothing but the Rapids. No Power Dive or Cliff Hanger. That part of the park is bare. A coaster would be nice in there as well. It is all about crowd control.

I never had a set date of when this would happen. It could be in 5 years when S:UF wont be all that popular so there wont be any crowds over there. Instead all of the crowds would be by the floorless.

You are right - In five years Superman will be like Batman - Not as popular as when it opened and have a quick line, but still a fun ride. One of my buddies wanted to see a Rocket Coaster wrap around Eagle. I wouldn't mind seeing that as well

Yeah I would like to see a coaster duel with another. Eagle sounds like a good coaster to duel with.

Just a question (becasue someone was mentioning Power and Cajun Cliff Hanger), where was Cajun Cliff Hanger anyways?I always thought a good spot for a rocket coaster would be near American Eagle and RB. The top hat would come close to the helix and be to the right of the sation of RB. The only problem is that it would hard to form a line to it.

If you walk by Superman and head for Batman right before you come up to the covered bridge look to your right and you will see a small patch of grass with nothing on it. Thats where it was.

If you look for the 3rd entrance to Batman, it would have been right next to it. The line would wrap around CC. Now it is nothing but a grass patch.

I think a strata would work well facing the opposite direction of AE. For example, have the top hat by Eagle's Station, and the Station where the SWTA is. Just remove that all together, and then launch into an overbank over Eagle's first bunny hills, and then, possibly, a set of LIM boosters that accelerate the train into a 400 ft top hat. At the top of the TH, you'd get a great view of the park in it's entirity before spiraling back down. You could then enter a second over bank and return back to the station. Remember people, this is just blue sky I'm pushing here. I love dragster, and I'd love for SFGAm to get a Strata. I think that this would be a nice idea for one. Coming up 94 you'd see the strata first, off in the distance(which would look really cool), and then as you approached the park, you'd get to see Eagle's helix. If the tophat was towards the back, it wouldn't kill the natural beauty of Eagle's Helix, and there wouldn't be a visual struggle between the two. You'd get some nice ride interaction, and maintain the aesthetics of the park. Also, those two overbanks I mentioned could be replaced with inverting Stengle Dives or Flying Snake Dives if you crave inversions. The only drawback would be that you'd have another ride in the Southwest Territory area, and that place is crowded enough as is. I agree with Soxman that something is needed on the East side of the park. I think his ideas would be lovely additions to the park.

in my opinion, SFGAm needs to focus on other expansion besides coasters. This park needs a waterpark BADLY!!! We are probably the only major amusement park in the country without one.A perfect spot for Hurricane Harbor would be where the bus parking lot is. They have plenty of parking available now where removing the bus lot wouldn't be a big issue. The entrance to it could be where SSA and the go-karts are now.Think of the hot sticky weekend days. A waterpark would pull alot of the crowds out of the ride park and into the waterpark.

A water park would be great. The nice thing about water parks is that they really take away from the amount of people waiting in coaster lines. On a 80 degree day people would much rather be at the water park than the theme park.I really do not believe GA can afford to rip up more parking lot. 2 trips this year I have seen the lots full. If you put down a waterpark the problem is you need to make up for the parking. A great example is DisneyLand. When they built a second park in DCA in the old parking lot Disney had to spend the money on a parking structure and tram service. The locals out there hate it.A water park would be nice, but I don't think it could be next door.

Water park wont draw the wisconsin people and some of the IL people to sfgam any more. Wisconsin has noahs ark the worlds biggest water park and like 3 ofther water parks. So i dont think they will build one.

I think they should take the opportunity to build it (waterpark) across the highway. Even if it means them creating a walkway across, they have the room to do it. They could create additional parking as well. And, if they get the opportunity, create a skilift over the highway. That would be soooo cool!

When have you seen the backlot completely full? Since the park opened , I have never seen that backlot complety filled. The most cars I have seen in the backlot was when the backlot was close to half-full. That backlot is pretty freakin huge.

I have seen the back lot completely filled once, and when I say completely fill I mean completely, it was during Fright Fest, I am not sure exactly what year(it was between 1993 and 1997) but I will never forget this moment. We drove up to where the gates are right after that little road with the stop light, and they were shut and there wasa sign tht said park full please visit another day on it . So we just went to Gurnee Mills.

Read my post, I am not joking it was full during Fright Fest one day.SIC COASTER KID, they could have just let them out the back entrance simply because not alot of people go that way so there wouldn't be as much as a problem of people trying to get in.
