yeah that is sad i live about 20 mins. from there. I rode my first roller coaster there. It was the coaster that was before typhoon. I had good memories at that park. It will be missed
I drive by it on a daily basis. The land is for sale, all the buildings are still standing but all visible rides are gone from the dry park. The Blue/Yellow waterslide in the waterpark is still there, I know it was sold for like $5,000, I'm guessing the buyer took the pumps (worth way more than 5G's) and left the rest of the ride for scrap. Every now and then I see cars in the parking lot right by the gate, I'd guess they are potiential buyers looking at the site, but I dont think anyone would buy it. The walmart across the street is closing and it's right by carpentersville which is ultra-ghetto for that area and there is alot, and I mean ALOT of vacant retail space in the area. After the park closed there was a mass exodus of retail.

^Awesome, i didn't know it was on that small of a lot (i haven't been their since the blue one). Anyways, that area is in bad economic shape like FParker said, so let's hope that if there IS actually a buyer, they attempt to change that area for the better....

^NO don't say that! I sure hope not, although both parks are in the similar location/income status, i actually LIKE Kiddieland a lot and would be sad to see it go.

Kiddleland will be razed immediately upon closure, bulldozer will probably start attacking the place before the last guests clear out on it's final day in the coming year or 2, whenever they are scheduled to close land is worth a fortune, will become condos.

did you sneak in there and take pictures or did you have permission? Just curious. I was going to sneak into a defunct park in Ohio if I ever end up going to ohio (a few sources tell me people nearby dont mind, as long as you are not damaging prperty, and making much noise).

ya you probably are thinking of the one I am, as there are many videos and pictures of it. I have heard that multiple times that no one cares for those reasons, so I may do it some day... if its still there.
These are some awfully sad pictures, and they were taken in August. I must agree that the park looks like it has been closed for a few years by the looks of the overgrown shrubs. I never once been in that park but looking at those photos makes me pine for those who once loved the park. I can't help but share their sorrow. At least it was bankrupcy that shut down the park, and not some housing company that belts "Give me your land!" down anybody's throat. But remember that bankrupcy and financial disputes are a part of everyday life and sometimes there's nothing we can do about it. As of now this park has none a choice but to be put out of its misery.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
