Cedar Point Rides

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby cycamps on June 22nd, 2007, 10:44 pm
What is your favorite Cedar Point ride, coaster or flat?
My top 4 are:
1. Top Thrill Dragster
2. Maverick
3. Millenium Force
4. Magnum XL-200

You can also include your least favorite.
Mine is either Cedar Creek Mine Ride because it is boring or Mean Streak because of how rough it is...the roughest ride I've ever been on.

1. Ferris Wheel
2. Raptor
3. Magnum
4. Blue Streak
5. Sky Ride though it is horribly short

Worst: any flat in the park, but solely due to the ride cycles and Cedar Fair's inability to correctly operate a flat ride.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder
Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping
Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

I'd sort of have to agree with that. I like the flats, but I think that the cycles are really short.

Also, isn't Demon Drop horribly loud?

Skyhawk could be such a better ride if the cycle was longer.

It's also the sole reason I like Delerium better than maXair, is that Delerium has higher swings for a longer amount of time.

Demon Drop is loud on the brakes, given the thing is kind of old.

Well I still need to do Maverick but from my trips last summer Id say all of Cedar Points rides are truly different from anything else in the world. Theres somethin about them... theyre all so wicked.

I love Intamin so...
1. TopThrill Dragster
2. Millennium Force
3. Wicked Twister

but in all honesty, Im over-obsessed on TTD. Its my favorite thing in the world.

That's for sure, Disaster Transport is pitch black with a few strobe lights. The only theming is in the que line; but it's still a decent ride. It seems like Demon's theming is coming back little by little.

lol disaster transport is the worst ride ever. They've tried to re-theme it about 6 different times and every year it got worse, so now they just turn out the lights on virtually the entire ride. If you like that experience, then great. But in my opinion that's not thrilling at all unless you get unexpected drops and intense turns, neither of which you get on DT. As far as the top 5...

Yeah, they used to have some colored lights and lots of stuff hanging from the ceiling, sometimes used as a head-chopper. It really wasn't TOO bad back in the day, but still not great. And the story line was super weird. There's all this robot/cyborg theming in the line, but then when you got off the ride they always said "welcome to alaska." So somehow this spaceship or whatever takes you to Alaska? I never really got it. Basically its a piece of crap.

When I rode it the line was pretty random then you get to the ride and the exit and there's nothing. It was weird.
Alaska sounds like a weird way to end it considering where you are, in a hot, humid climate.

Speaking of Wildcat, has anyone heard the rumor about the employees picking up Wildcat & moving it when it needed to be relocated? Supposedly around 500 employees moved it one time.
