This summer I am taking a trip down to Six Flags Over Texas. I am wondering if anybody here has been there? If so how is it?

My Plans are to ride Titan, Superman Tower of Power, Mr Freeze, and the highly popular Batman that I've been on at SFGAM. Well atleast those are my priorities!

BTW

I saw Mr. Freezes new paint job on the net. Red and Blue is kind of wierd for a ride called mr. FREEZE.

I went down there two years ago and it was pretty cool, even though most of the rides are closed. You can tell it was the first SiX Flags park. It feels that way. It's a pretty cool park, have a good time.

Dont forget to ride Shockwave, it's a classic Schwarzkopf and damn good.

Actually, I went to SFOT back when I was 5. I rode Shockwave, but I have bad memories about it, but, that was 10 years ago and I am a coaster freak now, so, I'm gonna have to try it.

Also, Texas Giant looks awesome!

I have been to SFOT and I loved the park, it was a great experience and a great time. When I went it was Mid- August and believe it or not the crowds where not bad at all.

However, Texas Giant.... Ouch that ride was painful at best and I only went on the ride once in my 3 1/2 days at SFOT. Mr. Freeze and Titan where easily the best rides there without a doubt. Judge Roy Scream was very good as well and definately not as rough as Texas Giant.

that trim is a damn shame, but still looks bad ass, sucks I didnt get to ride it last time I was there, I overslept in San Antonio and got to SFOT an hour before closing and what should have been a 15-20 min line for Titan was well over an hour. In 01 I dont remember that trim hitting so hard though.

I went to SFOT just last year, though I don't remember too much detail...

I remember the blistering heat for one thing! But on the bright side, they have fans and mister spread across many of the main pathways, and the lines were pretty short too.

Mot of the rides were closed when I visited, though I did enjoy a good Titan ride (though that had the longest line in the park). Wildcatter was probably my favorite from the park. Mainly because there were no lines, and even tho it's small, it's still a quick thrill fix. Superman Tower of Power was another AWESOME ride... I'm not sure if it's because of the amount of misters they had blowing on the line, which was covered at the time, or because the air you get on the ride is such a relief from the heat, but it's all good. =]

So have fun, but bring lots of water. Also, don't forget that it's the first Six Flags... It shows... But once you're into the whole feel of the park, you can have blast, regardless of the heat.

Is Titan better than Bull?

It seems that it would be considering the drop is 255 ft and it has two major helixes.

titan drop looks beeter than bulls but raging bulls track has more to it like drops and turns wich titan seems like the drop is the only big thrilling part of it.

The thing about bulls drop is the dip before it, so you get ejector airtime on it opposed to just floater air on most first drops. I like Bull's first drop better than Nitro's, SRoS's, Voyage's, even though I prefer all those coasters over bull.

Titan has a great first drop and the ride is great, but it is kinda short and only has a few airtime spots.

I've been there a few times, most recently in April. Wildcatter is still my favorite ride there- it's identical to the Edge that used to be at Great America, and since it's getting harder and harder to find these great 1st generation freefalls anymore, I recommend riding it while you still have a chance to! I also liked Superman Tower of Power- but be warned if you're scared of heights! I really enjoy these launch towers, though! Mr Freeze is great, but I think that people that are more prone to motion sickness should take caution, as somebody threw up all over the train right as we were about to get on! I also got a headache after riding it, but would go on it again. Titan is exciting for it's height and it's first drop, but many people complain about blacking out on the helixes, due to the G-forces (BTW, I think Raging Bull is better). Titan is a good smooth ride, though! Texas Giant is getting way too rough in my opinion, and really beats you up, but it's still not as bad as Boss in SFSL. I loved the classic Shockwave- a classic Schwarzkopf coaster from the late 70's which is even better at nighttime! The mine train coaster is cool and great piece of history! Batman is smoother than Great America's Batman- I didn't bang my head at all on the one at SFOT!. I love SFOT's mix of old classic rides, like Sombrero, and newer, state of the art rides like Superman and Freeze! A great park overall!!!

^^ Great America's isnt rough, but, on the corkscrew, there is a little jerkin. Also remember than SFOT's BTR was only built a couple of years ago, versus SFGAM's BTR was built 15 years ago. Yet, it is still is one of the most solid coasters out there.

BTW Howcome Goliath gets more credit than Titan, when Titan has an extra helix?

Isn't Goliath taller and faster? No? Eh, what do I know? When I first heard of Goliath, I heard all this promoting of how tall it is and everything and how revolutionary of a coaster it was. So either it is taller and faster than Titan or these folks that hyped it up are all on crack and/or want to draw fans that are halfway between Texas and California away from OT.

I highly doubt that you will be able to ride Superman Tower of Power. Now that that girl's feet got cut off, it might be down for awhile.

^The S:ToP at SFOT is a different type of drop ride than the one at SFKK so it is still open.

And as of yesterday Shockwave, the Mine Train and Titan at SFOT were underwater from a flooded creek (a common problem) and as of today all rides were reopened exept for Titan.

That's kind of neat if you think about it. A ride's acronym is the word "stop". Superman Tower of Power = STOP as the net dogs say.

I live in Austin, Texas (used to live in gurnee) and were getting POUNDED by rain.

Owell Superman Kryptons first drop knicks the ground and theres a pond next to it. I hope its not flooded over the track!

Titan should open up again pretty soon if it hasnt already, article I was reading said it wasnt ready to go at park open. SFOT floods often and they know how to deal with it in a hurry.
