SFGAdv Announces Wiggle's World

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Viper 06 on December 11th, 2006, 4:03 pm
JACKSON, N.J., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Six Flags Great
Adventure announces a newly themed area, "Wiggles World," the park's fourth
area devoted to kids offering new pint-sized adventures designed just for
them. Just next door at Six Flags Wild Safari, guests will take a
one-of-a-kind journey in the all-new Wild Safari Exploration Station,
featuring hands-on Safari interactive adventures. Both new areas are set to
open early next season.

NEW YORK, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Six Flags, (NYSE: SIX), the
world's largest regional theme park company, today announced an agreement
with children's entertainers The Wiggles to build unique "Wiggles World"
themed areas in its US parks over the next five years. Six Flags parks will
be the exclusive destinations in North America to find "Wiggles Worlds,"
three of which will debut at Six Flags in the 2007 season including one at
Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J.

That one pretty much secures our Wiggles to any non-beleivers out there...I gotta say it will be interesting. Read the rest of the above article here.

Also I can imagine we'll be hearing a lot about this in tomorrow's conference call. Hopefully some more details and possibly confirming the locations of the other two wiggles.

Personally, I'm not sure what I think of this. I'm glad we're appealing to families more but walking by this oozing world of gushiness could get annoying. I suppose we'll just have to see how it works out.

Discuss.

I'm not a big fan of this and here are my reasons....

1) The show merely appeals to toddlers and my 8, 6, and 5 year old cousins all agree that the Wiggles is a baby show.

2) A toddler has no business being in an amusement park of Six Flags' size because that would be the only section geared towards that age and eventhough this section would improve upon this statistic, most parents won't find it a bargain to pay that much money to bring their child to it.

3) Even if the parents do decide to bring the child that young to the park for this section, at that age, their amount of time spent in the park and spending money is very minimal. I'm farely confident that come nap time, the child will get cranky and the family will leave.

Overall, this is a poor idea and i'm hoping that it doesn't spread itself to our park, which is what is rumored to happen. I'm all for, and in some instances, strongly encourage the addition of a kiddie section, but not one this childish and not one based off a show that is on it's way out anyways. Isn't the one guy quiting? The proper age group to cater to would be the 6-10 year old age group, where they are old enough to spend most of the day at the park, but at the same time, need that extra kiddie section or two to consider doing such.

i'm not really crazy about this idea either, but then again, it's not my choice, is it? I agree a lot with what Tony says. We'll see how this looks though and how successful it is next year.

I dont like the Wiggles idea and I agree with Tony. I think CCN and and LTNP are nice kids sections and I dont see the need for another.

I can see all of your points due to the very young age this show applies to and that it really isnt that great of a benefit but then again it can be.
An entire family visiting the park is an aim for SF and lets face it, as of now GREAT AVENTURE has something for everyone. Theres so much for the youngsters to do now at great adventure....Bugs bunny world/land, balins jungleland, this, etc....so itll benefit in my opinion. Its just another add on to have an available option.

...and quite actually im hoping the rumor on this headin our way holds true. Great adventure is way too favored though. WHY!?!!

^ My take on SFGAdv is they have the coasters covered and the kiddie areas are covered. They definitley need more rides for people who are taller than 54 inches, but afraid of coasters.

I agree with you, but i think this section is TOO childish if that makes sense at all. However, people are unpredictable so you never know how popular this might be. Oh and for anyone who cares, they are also adding an area called Wild Safari Exploration Station geared towards an interactive animal experience. Here's the link to where you can find out more:

As for this idea, i greatly appreciate it. THIS is the way to get to the youngest of crowds because petting zoos are always very popular with most ages.

Well from what I know Wiggles are very poplar but as you said it’s for the Pre School aged kids. 4 and under. It may bring in lots of parents who have kids of different ages Like one 3, 6, 10, 13 since all the kids have things to do the whole family can come.
