This is the begining phase for construction and new concept art work for the long time rumored accelerator coaster. The theme is quite akward if you read through yet it makes sense as well seeing its traditional.

Its not that big & at least were seeing less of simple tophats and more elements in these coasters.

I see no elements to speak of, save for a heartline roll.

it's a figure 8 at ground level with a heartline between the 2 halves of the 8.

I posted about that awhile ago in the CP Footers thread.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

That's a rather short ride at 55 seconds.

Im saying its not just a tophat & back...they look nice but its like a one trick ride.

simple yes. It fits its theme then however. Im lookin at it like a RITA. Not big, but still has kick.

Only 55 seconds? Wow. If you're going to build a new coaster, at least make a somewhat decent one.

^Look at V2. In fact look at every Intamin Accelerator Coaster out there.

Most of them are under a minute.

Frankly I ride this.

^ True, I didn't even think about that. The worst part is that the wait times will be pretty long.

Take notice that there is no lift hill need to get up to top speed, saving 40+ seconds

Actually it says the rider capacity is 1500 riders per hour. That's a little less than Raging Bull's rider capacity. And with good ops, RB's line can move rather quickly. So this ride sounds like it's line might move fast (compared to other lines).

The launches are quick and powerful, instant gratification. If you make the ride quick you leave the riders breathless. I love coasters like this. However Id want height out of that thrill as well.

I do have to say, it looks like more can be done with it, no doubt. However, we know theyre good...Intamin may have problems but theyve got excellent coasters[in my opinion].

Accelerators are the their best selling coasters...thats what Intamin has said on their site during the 2005 season. ...& I cant find that now. Whatever. I do think theyre good coasters. I just think theyre good with a list of elements[SR, Kanonen etc] or stratas. Clones arent good to see too many of. For example: More could have been done to ZATURN instead of making a Stealth clone.

The seating on this one may give a different experience as it travels near the water/ground but lets hope its got more to give.

Not everything can be about a record breaking speed, or height.
That's why they clone things.

It's all because of a BUDGET.
Not every park can afford a $25,000,000 coaster.
Zaturn is in Japan if I'm not mistaken.
And this is the first rocket coaster over there to my knowledge.
So the height, speed, and appearance of this alone is going to freak people out.

Back to PortAventura.
The really can't make this thing 500ft high because of those trains.
Those things I imagine are the weight of a 4d train.
So they need a lot of support and can't really leave the ground to much.
This is the first of its kinda with the trains, so Intamin isn't exactly gunna make a record breaker here.

I wouldnt trust the capacity rating.

V2 and DV are both rated at 1100 pph, obviously V2 will never do that, and celebrations occur if DV can move 500 people in an hour with no breakdowns.

Im simply saying I like height & speed...But I also said these accelerators are good to see with a list of elements like SR, but a strata cant do that...they look good simplistic..inversions at that speed are a whole ballpark..............
With this new coaster, Im implying it could do more elements...not a record breaker. I wasnt implying more height for Zaturn either...it could of done more than a hill I think... :?

With the new coaster, It could even be filled with inline rolls, Volcano does it well...anything more than just turns I guess, a drop too...I dont know.
Maybe its fine just the way it is.

Coming from me the strata lover, I would even well over agree that a coaster does not need to be huge to be enjoyable. Elements can make up for that.
