I understand closing the parks, it makes sense if they aren't making anything and you've already got above average Texas parks in the same region that you could focus even more on. Quality is better than quantity in my opinion.
My guess is that the main offices will move to New York, now. (They already have some out there now.) This is a bad move in my opinion because, sure, it's an ideal place to conduct business (especially with big-namers that are joining the board), but it's EXPENSIVE! Why do you think Albertsons is based in Idaho? It's cheap.
It's all about perception. If you locate in the financial capital of the world, then you convey the image that you are on a better financial footing than you really are.
And Frontier City was one of the first parks I thought would go. No surprise here. It shows that Shapiro means business.
I still wish they could keep the park under a different company, because shutting it down completely, despite financial troubles, is still sad for the nearby residents.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
People must be liking the take over. Stock prices have shot up.
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Why?? It just seems like a waterpark. Don't people want to go to a waterpark anymore?

It's about half amusment park, and half waterpark. I just think it will also get sold off since it's one of the smaller, unflagged properties, that always seems to be forgotten.
