we just got an assignment in L.A. about a persuasive paper we have to write. I chose the topic i chose was the topic of Rob Snyder taking over the Six Flags corp. Does anyone have anything i can say for it? I think i'll definetly say that SF will either never be the same again, or it wont be the same because he might not keep it. What else should i say?
If you need to fill up space in your paper, you could mention how Snyder runs the Washington Redskins and how those methods could apply to his actions in the Six Flags company. That would take some research, but it could make your paper longer if you run out of ideas.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
"There should be a B.O. squad that patrols the city like a "Smell Gestapo". To sniff 'em out, strip 'em down, and wash them with a big, soapy brush..."
"Why is nice bad? What kind of a sick society are we living in when nice is bad?"
How is your topic for a persuassive paper? At least when I wrote a persuassive paper, we had to have biased stance to argue. Yours sounds more like a research paper.
Trailblazer_Tony is probably taking this the right way. Hit all the important stuff that Snyder does with the Redskins in the first part, and then elaborate on those points to explain how they apply to Six Flags, Inc. and how he is the best person to "run" the company. (I can't think of a better word for run right now, he's not really "running" it other than being the largest stockholder.)
So your thesis might be: Daniel Snyder's business model is the top choice for Six Flags.
Then have a few paragraphs talking about how he runs the Redskins and/or RedZone. What does he do that makes that company successful? Outsourcing food services, etc.
Then refer back to your points above when explaining how his model could improve Six Flags, Inc. Could the company use a different mascot (removal of Mr. Six)? And what about outsourcing food services? Direction the company is headed (family-oriented)? The possibilities are endless here.
I'd say come up with at least three or four main points to support your arguement, one per paragraph.
There was a PowerPoint presentation that summarized Snyder's model very well on sixflags.com under the investors section, I believe.

They're not "selling" Six Flags to Dan Snyder. He is just the largest stockholder. There are talks of selling the chain to another company, though. (Two big companies that did own/do own the chain are Warner Brothers and later Permier Parks, now known as Six Flags, Inc.)
