What makes an enthusiast, an enthusiast?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby E.R. Webmaster on January 10th, 2003, 10:14 pm
most of us concider ourselves as 'Coaster Enthusiasts'. What truly classifies what an enthusiast really is? Does it depend on how many coasters youve ridden? How many times you have gone to the parks in one year?

there is no determining factor, if you love coasters and spend a lot of time online talking about them and studying them, then you're an enthusiast! :D

What a person says about themself is what makes them an enthusiast. If they say they are, then they are. If they say they aren't, then they aren't. Someone could have a track record of 300, and not be an enthuisiast.

Actually, this topic should be called "What makes someone an enthusiast or an enthusiass"?Here is the official definition of the word "enthusiast""One who is filled with enthusiasm; one who is ardently absorbed in an interest or pursuit"The enthusiasses out there are the ones that constantly bicker and gripe about every little detail of coasters, rides, and park ownership but still claim to love coasters. They also think when they visit a park that the red carpet should be rolled out for them.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I totally agree with you ChitownYou really decide yourself if you want to be a coaster enthusiasts. I go to GAm at least 30 times a year and so does my brother. But my brother doesn't consider himself an enthusiast, although I think he is since he goes to and enjoys all the parks I go too. So it is possible to be a enthusiast without being online and talking about it all the time.

I think you are a coaster enthusiast if you spend half your life on coasters... and the other half reading and talking about them on the internet.

Half your life on coasters and half your life reading about it? Thats crazy. Coasters are a very small percentage of my everyday life.

LOL, well, let's put it this way- my professors at UAkron wouldn't even notice I wasn't there if I didn't show up in order to make it to a theme park. I think that to be a coaster enthusiast, you should know general information about coasters, etc., and generally just enjoy riding them and visiting amusement parks  .

Wow, cdrptfrk you live right by me, and we are like 8 hours from everyone else. I know lots of people from UA. How about that?! But yeah, if I skipped school people would be amazed because up until last week I hadn't missed a day of school for years. They were all worried about me, but I was just sick!
