Say goodbye to that dancing creepshow named Mr. Six.
Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins, is fixing to deep-six the strangeling octogenarian that for years now has served as the chief mascot and marketing engine for troubled Six Flags Inc.
Snyder, who took control of the theme park operator earlier this week, is planning to rebrand the Oklahoma company so it better appeals to children and families, the New York Post reported.
That means steering away from “thrill-seeking teenagers” and establishing partnerships with fast-food restaurants and cartoon studios, the Post said.
Branding experts say the odd-looking Mr. Six — whose TV ads often featured him luring teens into a bus — doesn’t appeal well to parents, who have more money to spend at Six Flags parks than adolescents.
Snyder convinced shareholders to dump Six Flags CEO Kieran Burke and allow his investor group to take control of the company.
Is this the beginning of a kinder, gentler Six Flags?
"I've got two questions for ya: 1) Did I train you to do that? and 2) Are you getting paid to do that? Didn't think so, now move along!"
I'm happy about Mr. Six being gone but they should keep everything else thats already there, like the WB license, Fright Fest and stuff of that nature.
Well, I am glad that I bought those Mr. Six bobbleheads now. I also own two shirts with him on it. Does anyone else think that it is extremely dumb to only cater to families? Most of the rides at Six Flags parks were ment for teens so why would you focus on families and kids. So long Six Flags.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Has anything factual come out from the company? NOPE
Just because Snyder wants to change it, doesn't mean it will happen. He does not own Six Flags Inc., and is only sitting on the board. I would assume that its a majority vote and the Red Zone guys have three seats, while the remainder of the board (4 seats) is still guys from before.
The company is still progressing with the sale process as before.

Nope, catering to families is the best course of action really. As families spend money, teenagers do not.
Also just cause they are taking the company in a new and profitable direction doesnt mean they are going to go and tear out all the coasters. All the teen rides will stay put.
Also I doubt CapEx will change much, will be less money spent total, but parks will still get the E Ticket Attractions(to borrow an ancient Disney term from when Disneyland was not POP) from time to time

I think that the article that is posted as the topic is a fact that Mr. Six is gone. I could have read it wrong, but it sounds already determined.
Also, Mr. Six Pandemonium will probably just become Pandemonium if Mr. Six is in fact deceased.

According to other articles I read, Snyder does not run the company.. He is a non-executive chairman of the board. chariman of the board and CEO do not mean the samething. Burke is still CEO and will remain so unless the board kicks him out. Not only that but even if Snyder was CEO right away, nothing would change immediatly. it iwll take a while...and the article above sounds more like a commentary rather than fact. he is just saying that IF Snyder gets his way bye bye Mr Six
He is right that us teens dont spend money, when i go to the park, i bring a cooler, with water/soda/food that way we can take little car breaks and NOT have to spend a dime in the park
Just yesterday I discovered an article that shocked me with the terrible news about Mr. Six's cast into retirement. I would've linked you to the article but you would only be able to read two paragraphs unless you subscribed to that particular newspaper. Ugghhh!!
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
