Yeah it is a bit old, but hey thats ok

It came out in 2000 because Alton had a deal with B&M to not release another for a year or two. However G5, the one in Taiwan you are referring to, is a bit steeper and mainly above ground. I like Oblivion much more, but this does well for Asia 8)

Cool ride. Reminds me of Sheikra.

I like it more abouve ground, it seems larger and a tad scarier for guests.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

However, for me, I think diving into a 100ft. deep tunnel underground is more exciting. Even though Oblivion may not give off much feeling of height, it is a thrill factor going underground, especially that far below :P

G5 and Oblivion is less of Sheikra, but Oblivion is more than G5 thrill wise cause of the anticipation and tormenting que. G5 is simple and mainly above, Oblivion mainly below...

Sheikra-the largest of the three, more drops, greater layout.
G5-the plain, above ground diver, out and back layout.
Oblivion-the mind twisting diver, although the same as G5, has great anticipation build up with twisted videos.

They may be and thats why I think Oblivion makes up for it. There are anticipation videos, and its below the surface in the darkness which adds to the thrill...

^ I think the paint scheme on G5 looks better than Oblivion's, but otherwise, Oblivion has way better theming.

It is interesting, however I just think Oblivion's scheme fits and suits it quite well alongside its theme....its not really just black....its a charcoal grey-black with grey supports, and the bright orange fits neatly as well.

I aways wanted a dive machine that was all black and grey with lime or light green that would vibrantly stick out on its trains

Just got back from Florida and visiting Busch Gardens Tampa. Sheikra is definitely a fun coaster. It has 2 90 degree drops which makes it more than a one trick pony along with having an inversion after the first 200ft drop. The final on this ride is great with water shooting up and soaking spectators.

I wouldn't mind seeing one of these go into SFGAm. Its a crowd pleaser to ride and to watch.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Wow. I can't believe that those two rides are clones. G5 looks way cooler and better. Being more underground more is way worse. Oblivion wouldn't even scare me because if without RCDB I would never even know that that is a 180 ft drop. Then on the overbanked turn on Oblivion it only gets about 25 feet above the ground. Then on G5 the oberbanked turn gets at least 125 feet above the ground. Jeese, How deep is Oblivion's tunnel. I would way rather ride G5. And G5's colors are better.

Yeah, its deep. Oblivion's tunnel is approx. 110ft. below the surface. As they were constructing the ride in '97, they had a bit of a problem with water from rain and soil flooding in when theyd dig....its deep you should see those pics of them digging.

Wow. 110 ft, that is deep. How do they keep water from filling up in there at the bottom. And how did they dig it? Did they use a tunnel boring machine.
