Golden Coaster

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Trailblazer Tony on November 6th, 2005, 1:58 am
This may seem like kind of a wierd topic, but what coasters have you been on that opened the year you were born? I was born in 1987 and my only golden coaster is Iron Dragon at Cedar Point.

OMG!!!!!!!! Iron Wolf opened on my EXACT b-day!!! April 28th, 1990! I always knew that came out the year I was born, but I never knew it was on the exact day!

Good topic!

Looks like VERY few (4) still operating that were built in 1980. I haven't been on any yet, however, I will be taking a first time trip to VF! early next season and will have to get on Corkscrew, then I'll have a "golden coaster" on my track record.

Good thing I checked this out because I probably would have skipped Corkscrew anyways...

1988 wasn't the greatest year for coasters...

The only one for me was the River King Mine Train at SFSTL. I enjoyed that ride the one time i rode it, however.

Why only say the Golden Coaster? How about a Golden Park?

Marriots Great America Open the year I was born. I have such great memories of Great America, some our my first memories as a child. I remember when each coaster opened after that for the most part, especially Batman The Ride. I remember people standing in awe not understanding how the track could be above the cars. Great America has been and brought a lot of great memories, my Golden Park!

haha I was supposed to be born that day, but was born 10 days early. I've known that for a while, always thought it was neat.

This topic is about if the coaster opened year you were born and you've been on it, not if you rode it the year the coaster opened. I thought that too for a moment.

Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point. Haven't been on it yet but when I do then I will have a golden coaster on my record.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/
