Wow these things keep getting bigger and bigger. Im hopeing that these new big ones can pack the same amount of punch as the small ones like Double Shot at Indiana Beach. So far ive only rode IB's Double Shot (about 80ft. tall) and CP's Power Tower and thought the smaller one was way more intense with ejector air at the top. If they can pull that off with these new larger towers, then that would be one hell of a ride.
ok, well, on another messageboard, someone said that its actually going to be 100 feet tall, but on top of a big mountain, or something...if 450 feet means 450 feet above sea level, then that is totally weak.
From what I understand, S&S towers don't use gravity at all, rather the car is always being pulled up or down by a pulley system hooked up to some big ass pneumatic cylinders. Thats why it would only go 60 from 350 feet, where at only 300, a coaster goes over 90.
Yeah, the S&S towers use a cable like Travis said... Man, those things are loud too! When I was at Cedar Point, Power Tower's pneumatics and stuff were really loud! It made it even more scary!

OHHHH. That makes sense now.
