Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I was wondering if any of you have gone to both and could give me an idea as to which is better. Links to reviews and such would be appreciated.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

I have been to both.

Pros and Cons

Kalahari

Pros
-Great Slides
-Plenty to do everywhere in the waterpark
-Cheap if your not staying there
-Rates are moderatly cheap

Cons
-Crowded on weekends
-Long lines
-Crowds do not weaken until about an hour or two before closing

Wilderness Resort

Pros
-Private waterpark, only open to Hotel guests
-Lines are only for newer slides
-Alot of waterparks to choose from
-Crowds are usually light

Cons
-Your paying $250+ for a Private waterpark
-You basically have to stay there to get in
-Need a keycard for food

If you are looking for the waterpark experience, go for the Wilderness, if your on a Budget, go for the Kalahari.

I found that the waterpark at the Kalahari was FAR better than the Wilderness. It just seemed like there was more to do.

If you have a choice of when you go, the first week of May DURING THE WEEK. The place is DEAD. We even got bumped up to a suite and paid regular room prices. FUN!!

From what I've seen from pictures, it looks like Kalahari has a lot more to do. Wilderness, while it does have like 10 waterparks, they all seemed to be small and each only had a couple of slides. I may be wrong. Can anyone get me some nice pics of each resort?

I've been to wilderness, but it was in the winter. I found it really boring except for the area that is like looney toons lodge at sfgam. Kalahari has pretty good slides and the lines weren't that bad when we went.

The Wilderness' Tornado slide hast the most unique layout I've ever seen.

....You get some decent air on the first drop. :)

I've been to both and I think the Wilderness is a much better decision. They have 2 outdoor waterparks and 2 indoor waterparks, a kiddie indoor waterpark, a huge dry interactive playhouse, laser tag, and a bunch of restraunts. Also, the waterparks are very good and reserved only for hotel guests, where as the Kalahari sells day passes to the general public. In terms of price, everytime i've looked at prices to book a hotel room, it was usually the Wilderness that had the cheapest prices. And now with the additions of the Tornado slide and a toilet bowl, in addition to the new outdoor wave pool, I think the wilderness is the best value.

They also bring in baby animals to the Kalahari. They're so cute (as you can tell, I love animals). I like both the Wilderness and the Kalahari the same.
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu

I have't been to Kalahari. I have been to the Wilderness though. I had a great time. I did not stay there. Hilton Garden has a waterpark package with the Wilderness. We didn't even know there was another water park. Once you have been to both then there is plenty to do. I wasn't able to ride the Tornado. It was closed. But the Cannonbowl was awesome!!! I wish I could go again. But I want to visit Kalahari next.
