I'm pretty sure almost any Six Flags park doesn't allow the use of camera's on their rides, although I did see somebody taking a POV of Goliath when I was at SFMM and the ride op didn't care one bit.

SFSTL does NOT allow for the use of any camera or recording equipment (sound or video) on any of their rides with the possible exception of Colossus.
At one point in time Colossus was sponsored by some camera company (Pentax, maybe Kodak), then they allowed for pictures to be taken from the seated position, while the ride was in motion. This policy may have changed back to no pictures by now.
Those are the official park rules just like at SFGAM. It is your choice on whether or not to follow those rules.
There are some very tempting scenes on your way up the lift hill of Screamin' Eagle given that it goes past a old ride graveyard and you can see the entire park laid out below you from the top of the hill.
I would not advocate breaking park rules, but I thought you might want to know what to look for on this ride.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

Really. Hmmmm......
Photography - Cameras are not permitted on rides. Six Flags requires that all photographs or videos taken by guests be used for their personal enjoyment ONLY. Any use, reuse or reproduction for commercial purposes without the express written consent of Six Flags is prohibited.
Thats right off the Six Flags website for Magic Mountain.
I would surmise that ALL parks have the same policy. There are exceptions though. Most train rides and slower rides (like a Ferris Wheel) I think would allow cameras and videotaping.

I doubt that you would get away with posting those pics on here.
At Magic Mountain only a select few do not allow cameras. Scream! and X are of those select few. I've fully read the signs for the rides and they said nothing about cameras. Unless they've changed between January 2nd and today.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.
^Na, that's just how greatamerica and Timmy treat other people sometimes. Just because coasters at SFMM don't have posted signs about camera's doesn't mean the rules aren't there. That's probably why only the newer rides have stuff on their signs.

Bringing camera equipment on a ride is not only foolish but dangerous. First, you can lose a 50-1000 dollar piece of equpment. Secondly and more importantly is the fact that if you were to lose the camera, it becomes a deadly missle. Taken that most rollercoasters travel above 30 mph and a height of about 30-200 feet that would more than 200 lbs of force behind that camera. That force striking something or someone has the potential to really do some damage. The risk is amplified if the ride travels over people (like Raging Bull does).
And if there was the chance of that camera striking someone and you were found to be in violation of the park rules, there is a good chance you might get charged with involintary manslaughter.
So, think, It might be a chance for an awesome photo shot, but enjoy the ride. Don't be so hung up over taking pictures.
Well this being a Six Flags St. Louis topic. I am going there in a few weeks and wondered if its as crowded as Great America and what rides would you recommend to definitely go on?
Some parks don't have anything that says no pictures on rides, on the ride sign. But they have it somewhere. Why don't you call Guest Relations at SFMM or SFSTL and see how they react.

You used that comment to make a false statement, when in FACT SFMM does not allow cameras on any of their rides. I posted the park policy, then you still went on to say that you knew you knew that SFMM allowed cameras, when you were wrong! It was just too stupid not to make light of.

No it's not nearly as busy. If you go during the week, it should be a very light day. Mr. Freeze is one great ride, the Boss is fun but rough, the Eagle is fun, the River King Mine Train is a fun little coaster, the Ninja suck, and the Batman isn't anything to write home about.
It is a very nice park, when a decent selection of rides. And the Hurricane Harbor is smaller than ours but it is VERY nice. The wave pool is better than ours.
The signs say you can't but I have an onride from every coaster at St. Louis and never heard a peep out of the ops. I've got several from SFGAm including Demon where the ride op asked if the vid turned out! CF and BG parks are different though. Very strict about bags and cameras.
