Cedar Point Help

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby coasterinsane on July 14th, 2005, 11:32 pm
Me and my friend are trying to take a trip over to cedar point in august but im only 17 and she is 16. How are we supposed to stay anywhere without and adult. We have parental permission, no doubt... we just need hotel permission. Where would you recomend us staying? (3 nights 9th,10th,11th)

Sorry, but there is no hotel that will let a 17 yr old get a room. Key reason I couldnt make it to SFSTL this yr....

It blows. But hey, next yr ill be 18 :D

Not going to happen.

Only thing I can recommend is that you and your friend get as much sleep as possible the day before you leave. Hit the road by 3am to make it to the park by opening. Leave around 10 pm and make it back to Illinois by 3am.

You would be up for 24 hours but if you switch off driving, it wouldn't be that bad. If you get to tired while driving home, stop off at a rest stop along side the highway and take a nap in the car.

Sounds crazy but if you really want to hit CP, and at your age, this is your only option right now.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Good point. If you go to bed by 8:00 PM (crazy, right?) you would get 7 full hours of sleep. Not ideal but certainly enough. And I'm sure you've stayed up until 3:00 AM before, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I would suggest bringing a cardboard box because hotels will not let you stay in a room unless you are with an adult! Good luck finding a cardboard box that will fit the both of you and make sure you bring your sleeping bags!!!

No, they would almost certainly require I.D. upon check-in. I guess they could drive down with you guys, get the room keys, but not spend the night.

Well it will be crowded since it is the summer but at least you are going on weekdays. Expect around 45 minutes for MF and an hour for Dragster. WAIT FOR THE FRONT ROW ON DRAGSTER no matter how much longer it is, believe me. Go on Raptor in the late afternoon. Hit either MF or TTD first, but then go to the back of the park and go on Gemini and Magnum, there rides are deserted in the morning. Make sure you hit MaXair. Most of all, have a great time

Actually, the best bet on TTD is to hit the shortest seat, just to make sure you can get in a ride before it breaks down (it will) and since your there more than one day AND its during the week, you'll get several more runs on TTD. Just make sure to get the shortest wait on the first ride.

No not really...Dragster has been running VERY well this year. Make sure you wait for the front seat on your first ride, you will not be dissapointed. I was at CP for 3 full days this season and TTD never broke down. WAIT FOR THE FRONT!

Dont worry. Hahah, shes like a family friend.
And im really nervous about the trip being canceled at the last minute becuase of money issues.
Does anyone know anything about an early entrance pass or somthing, or discount tickets?
ANYthing to make our trip more enjoyable would be wonderful.
Thanks.

Early entrance pass are for Joe Cool season passes and resort guests only! Go to the back entrance by Soak City by 8:30 am and sometimes they let everyone back there in at 9am. Also this is the closest gate to TTD!
