Wisconsin Dells - worth the 3.5 hour drive each way?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Raging_Bull on July 8th, 2005, 6:21 pm
I am contemplating taking a day trip to the Dells during a weekday sometime this month. I would leave my house around 7:30am, and would not get back until 1:00 or 1:30am. However Hades looks amazing...and I really want to see what everyone is talking about in Avalanche. I just can't decide if it's worth it...along with the $52 in admissions to get into both parks. Any input?

You can ride avalance once for 5.99 if you're really on a budget. I did it once, it's not fun only being able to ride once but the ride is pretty cool.

Hades is worth every penny.

I don't think I could get myself to do that since it's only $14 more for an all-day pass. But would you say it's a worthwhile trip?

Do It!! Sure it's a long drive but it's worth it. I go every year( family thing). As long as you stand driving for a long time it's nothing. Besides 12 hours on a plane is worse.
ROCK ON!

It is well worth it!!! One thing you can also do, Timber Falls has a night time wristband after 5 pm for about $14.00 which is well worth it. we just did it over the 4th of July weekend and played two rounds of mini golf , three log flume rides and 26 Avalanche rides and the was from 6pm till 10 pm.

Enjoy and have a blast,
Iggy- who thinks Alalanche is a much better ride then Hades!

Im with you though, if they had lights in the tunnel of Hades, i think that would add alot to the experience.

If the lights were on you might be able to feel the 90* banked turn better. But Avalanche packs one hell of a punch for such a small coaster!!!

hmm I wonder why the after 5pm wristband is not listed on Timber Falls website. This does sound like a good idea however, as it doesn't sound like there are ever long lines for Avalanche.

Raging Bull... I have been there twice this year and have done the after 5 wristband both times and it is plenty of time to do all of their activities. Both times have been on holiday weekends also. We also went back to MtO the first time to get some nite rides in. If you have any doubt about the wristband give them a call. Also with your wristband you can ride the Skyscraper for $10.00 instead of $20.00, which is well worth it.
