SF... Flipping the Switch

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

WE ARE 100% COMMITTED TO MAKING YOUR DAY HERE GREAT. After a off-season of getting ready, Six Flags has some incredible changes for you this season. New Shows! New Opening Routine! New Events! You won't want to miss the best season yet.

Its only a week away till SFGAm makes it debut, but how long can you last till that day comes :?: Well here is the inside scoop of the new 2005 season for SFI.

Flipping the switch... What in the world is that? This year SF cartoons interact with you when you get to the entrance, and so does employees. Are you SERIOUS? YES!!!!!! The Looney Tunes also do a little dance for you on the grand stage (which is under construction).

Six Flags America

April 9

The park began the season patriotically with a great rendition of The Star Spangled Banner over the P.A. system, everyone removed their caps, put their hands over their hearts, turned and faced the flags while the song played. The rendition sounded like a Boys 2 Men was singing it. After the Star Spangled Banner played, we waited about 5 minutes. The employees inside the gates were dancing and having a good time. One of the park managers pulled a family out of the crowd, invitied them inside of the park, gave what appeared to be a eight year old boy a key to the "Switch". Everyone counted down from 10 to one and then the boy turned the key, and lifted the lever to start the 2005 season.

Reports from SFA has been very good. Mechanics everywhere. The first weekend for this park has been very rough.

1. Superman valleys (don't worry no one was on it)
2. Jokers Jinx closed
3. Batwing closed and testing
4. Two Face: The Flip Side (Invertigo) been closed for like the whole 2004 season. If you don't know this is like the Junior of Deja Vu.

On April 16 things progressed :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Every ride was open. It was surprising that Two Face was open because it is a Vekoma ride. This ride stayed closed like Deja Vu because it was waiting on a specific part that was from Switzerland. Iron Eagle was also open (this ride stayed silent for the whole 2004 season). Vekoma rides are reliable. Trust me. This park has three Vekomas (Batwing, Two Face, and Mind Eraser). Jokers Jinx was repainted this year (they are still painting) but with the same colors.

Mind Eraser (SLC) is celebrating its 10th year at SFA. The FIRST ME. The gift this ride received was a fresh coat of paint, and it got its own original colors instead of the other ME.

Track: Orange/Yellow
Supports: Red

Overall this park is really improving. SFA is really trying to raise attendance this year (competitors are Paramounts Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Hershey Park). Employees being friendly (hopefully stay like that), alot of mechanics, security, NEW HURRICANE HARBOR, new paint, new signs, etc. This park really got ALOT of additions, but I won't name anymore. You will have to see for yourself if you ever visit. Only 15 miles East of Washington, DC. If you get bored of downtown, COME HERE :!: :!: :!:

How will they interact (characters)? Do you mean that they will just shake hands. They don't talk, unless are they now going to talk?

Isn't Two-Face almost like a "regular" boomerang, but inverted? I think the towers are only 45 degrees compared to D Vu's 90 degrees. I think SFGAm was originally supposed to get this, but got D Vu' instead. I'm glad about that. For first weekend, things are going to happen no matter how much you prepare for it. In order to compete with other parks, they need another coaster.

The cartoon character will shake hands, take pictures, do a performance, and play around with you (they're not allowed 2 talk).

About Two-Face: The Flip Side? your correct... It is a regular boomerang, but inverted. It might not be as tall as Deja Vu or as fast (how fast does it go?), but does Deja Vu has a face to face train? Not at ALL!!! This is what makes the ride more thrilling. Looking at a passenger that is very scared is very funny. Also this ride is very disorienting. Vekoma makes thrilling rides without them being the tallest or the fastest. Two-Face might be the junior of Deja Vu, but don't let its height FOOL ya.

Note. Two-Face is the only coaster of its kind in the SF chain.

I do agree with the park needing a new coaster. SFA hasn't received a coaster since 2001, which was Batwing. We have 3 Vekomas, 2 Intamin (1 is a water coaster), 1 Premier, 1 GCI, and 1 Charles Dinn.

BRING ON THE B&M :!: :!: :!:
