Geauga Lake/Boomerang

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Ilovthevu' on April 14th, 2005, 2:45 pm
Is worth going to this park? I will going with my family to Cedar Point in June, and Gaugea Lake is right there. Also, if anyone has been on a "regular" Vekoma boomerang, how is it? I know they have one, and see many "regular" boomerangs at alot of other parks, so it would nice to know what you guys/girls think of them.

I enjoy many VeKmoa coasters so I can say that a "regular boomerang" as opposed to a "giant inverted boomerang", I think, is just as good. They also are open a lot more than any DejaVu ever has

Yeah, i have been on Boomerang at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. They are really fun! :D Just to warn you there are ussuallya lot of little kids in line for "regular" boomerangs for some reason. :? Just like Vu except smaller, differnt layout(no crossover), and your not inverted. But dont be decieved by the photos online, even though it is smaller then Vu doesnt mean it is smaller. Its bigger than you realize! I highly reccomned it!

Some standard Vekoma Boomerangs have been known to be rather rough, so I would reccomend riding with extreme caution.

This park is really going in the right direction and I would reccomend going. 10 decent coasters with a bunch of other neat rides and a brand new waterpark.

I've been on the Boomerang at Knott's Bery Farm and I thoght that it was an O.K ride. The only ride I can compare that to is........ Iron Wolf... they pretty much have the same roughness... sort of....... But that's my comparrison.... Well any way it is a fun ride :) .

Yeah, I've been on Head Spin (I believe that's what it's called at Geauga Lake). I enjoyed it a lot, although it was a bit of a headbanger.

Man you guys need to go on Boomerang in San Antonio (Six Flags Fiesta Texas). Very smooth, not as smooth as B&M's but a lot smoother than what im hearing from you! Probably because it is one of the newer boomerangs out thier.

all boomerangs are the same no matter wich one you ride. you will get the same feelings out of riding one at marine world and riding the one at knots berry farm.

All of them will hurt your head
and wast a good chunk of you good coaster riding time.

there are many kinds of coasters.

Ones that work
Ones that Dont (vekoma is a spitting example)
Ones that hurt (vekoma again is a spitting example)
And ones that are enjoyable (every thing but vekoma)

I really dont like the bomerangs cause they hurt to much, they have a good enough ride lay out and concept they just havent bothered much to improve it. That is vekomas majoy fault. they dont improve on designs that are all ready existing, the go for new and faulty.

true, true, i agree with you, but as i said, a coaster is a coaster........ riding coasters is a thing i do and i accept any coaster.....but there will NEVER be a time where I would consider a coaster a waste of time.... But, hey, thats just me!!! :D I LOVE COASTERS!!!!!!

I don't agree.
Face/Off at PKI is awesome, and Deja Vu is really fun too. I also enjoyed Ninja at SFOG.
Besides.... Spacely's is fun too!

Thanks for the comments on the "regular" boomerang. Which rides are really good at Geauga Lake, rollercoasters and flats? Is that Vekoma flyer much better than SUF?

The Vekoma flyer "X-flight" I think it's called, is more rough than S:UF but it does give a little more of a thrill. Though saying that, I'd give S:UF a 9/10 and X-Flight a 7.5/10.

X-Flight is definitely a bit more rough, and sometimes for me it's uncomfortable around the chest area. That ride, though, is way better than SUF in my opinion. It gives a lot more of a thrill. I love that ride. The vertical loop is definitely the best part, it's insane...

Some other good coasters are Dominator (I was addicted to it, 16 rides in one day), Thunderhawk, and Villain even though it's pretty rough. This season it should be a lot less rough though, hopefully. I also went on Haybaler and Texas Twister. TT is much better than King Chaos. Haybaler is also pretty fun.

I don't know, comfort is everything, you can't enjoy a coaster unless your comfortable. Not having ridden either of the two, however I cannot comment.

Is that Haybailer the one like SFGAm used to have? The ride spins in the circle while the cars swing. I can imagine now why Six Flags Ohio didn't make it. It's sounds like many rides are rough over there. I'll probably take a chance anyway just to get a feel for more rides. I will hopefully ride a floorless, regular boomerang, and a Vekoma flying coaster. I havn't done any of these types before.

Yeah I believe it's pretty much like the one SFGAm used to have.
