So I'm heading down to Disneyworld for my first time ever for spring break. My friends family is taking me, as well as paying for everything. They are way to good to me... but. Thats besides the point. Since Disney is so huge, what exactly should I try to get in? (Assuming only spending one day there because we are also going to Busch Gardens and Universal Studios) What are the FOR SURE things to go on. Most thrilling. Shortest lines. What time of day? HELP? Im freaking out here.
---------2006--------- Raptor Crew Wicked Twister Crew ---------2007--------- Maverick Crew Mantis Crew Cad Cars Team Lead
For Sure Things to Go On/Most Thrilling: Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster.
Shortest Lines/Time of Day: Donno. I've only been there with those fast pass things. But I have waited in line for Rockin' Roller Coaster and even though the zig zags were full it still wasn't that long of a wait.

What days will you be there???
I will be at WDW March 30th to April 3rd. (I will be in Florida from March 28th to April 3rd.)
I should be able to help(As I was just there last month.)
What Disney parks do you wish to go to?
Do you plan on spending one day at Disney?-You do realize there are 4 different Disney theme parks and two Disney waterparks correct?
If you pretty much tell us that, then we should be able to help you.
Just don't be upset if the parks are busy. Spring Break will be busy. Oh yeah, make sure you make good use of Fastpass at Disney and Universal Express at Universal Studios. They will save you mega time and they are free.
it depends on what park you're going to. I can give an overview of my faves though.
Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Railway, Splash Mountain
Epcot: Test Track, and from what a heard, Mission Space is good.
MGM: Rock and Roll Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror
Animal Kingdom: Primevil Whirl (aka Rajun Cajun), and Dinosaur
I'll be at Disney from 3/26 to 3/31. Those are my faves. What universal are you going to, i have choices for IOA too.
Must rides/sees at whatever parks you may be going to.
Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Dumbo and It's a Small World(for sentimental reasons.), Mickey's Philhar Magic, The Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean
If Time Permits: Stich's Great Escape, Astro Orbiter, The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm(Vekoma Rollerskater), Jungle Cruise
Epcot: Mission: Space, Test Track, Spaceship Earth, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
If Time Permits: El Rio del Tiempo(Mexico)
MGM Studios: Muppet Vision 3d, Star Tours, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, The Backlot Tour
If time permits: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The Great Movie Ride
Animal Kingdom: DINOSAUR, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, It's Tough To Be A Bug!, Primeval Whirl
If Time Permits: Tarzan Rocks!, Festival of the Lion King
Also, make sure you see all 3 of the nightly shows. They include Wishes!(MK), Illuminations(Epcot), and Fantasmic!(MGM). Also, see any of the parades if time permits.
The waterparks are also fun! Blizzard Beach has the best waterslides, while Typhoon Lagoon has an awesome wave pool!
Here are the must rides/sees at Universal.
USF- Shrek 4-D, Twister...Ride it Out, Revenge of the Mummy, JAWS, Terminator 2, E.T. Adventure, Men In Black Alien Attack, Back to the Future The Ride, Earthquake!
If Time permits: Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast, NICK LIVE!, Universal Horror Make-Up Show, Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster,
IOA- Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, Dr. Doom's Fearfall, Incredible Hulk Coaster, The Cat in the Hat, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Dueling Dragons, The Eight Voyage of Sinbad Stunt Show
If Time Permits: Storm Force Accelatron, Poseidon's Fury, The Flying Unicorn(Vekoma Rollerskater)
Take time to enjoy Citywalk as well if you are going to have time. It is pretty neat!
I hope you have fun. I felt like a 5 year old at Disney and Universal. It was so much fun! Make sure you arrive at the parks at least 45 minutes early. It is Easter Break and it takes awhile to get to the ticket booths once you park. From the Parking Deck at Universal to the entrances to the parks is at least a 10-15 minute walk. You also have to take the monorail or ferry to the Magic Kingdom and there is no way you will walk from where you walk to any park entrance. The trams are used for that.
If you are staying on Disney property, I reccomend using the shuttle services, it worked great.(You don't have to stay on property to use them. You can get from park to park on them too!)
So what parks are you actually going to? Are you going to both Universal Parks?(IOA and USF)
Also, are you staying at a Disney Resort? You might be able to go to Magic After Hours(OR something like that.) It gives you up to 3 hours of extra time in a certain park while it is closed to the regular public.
What ticket option do you plan on getting?
You probably want the Magic Your Way base ticket, correct? That gets you into all 4 theme parks. 1 for each day.
Ok, I'll say this again. Fastpass is your friend and arriving early will really help your day. Let me just start by saying that the whole Disney atmosphere is just totally different than anything you have experienced. It is really different than SfGam.(Though SfGam is great!) Even though WDW doesn't have the greatest thrills, you will want to do everything. Ig I just had to go on the Flying Carpets of Aladin. My friend thought I was crazy.
Oh yeah, they have single rider lines for Test track, Mission: Space, and maybe another ride or two. They helped a lot, especially if you don't mind splitting up your group.(Tip: If you execute this on Test Track, you will get your own prepping room with other single riders. Try to stand opposite of where you enter so you are the first few people to enter the 'actual' line. It may save you a few or even more minutes.)
If you are planning to only going one day, my favorite parks are Magic Kingdom, and MGM. Everytime, my family went to another park, I always forced them to go back to the Magic Kingdom. For a one day excursion, I would skip Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. You just won't have time.
These are my WDW favorites: Big Thunder Mountain Ralroad (MK), Space Mountain (MK), Buzz Lightyear (MK), Terror of Tower (MGM), Snow White Ride (MK), Splash Mountain (MK), Country Bears (MK), the presidents at Magic Kingdom, Little Mermaid show (MGM), Beauty and the Beast show is not bad (MGM), Great Movie ride (maybe/sort of at MGM), and Star Tours (MGM).
In my opinion Epcot is not worth it. The best ride there is the Imagination section/building. This is a purple dragon (Figment) in which you get skunked on, and this scientist tests you on your senses.
Test Track to me, is just different. I don't think it's a great ride, but it is rather real life. You go over potholes, you go up hills, speed on the highway, feel hot in your car from the heater, and feel really cold during the winter all in your car.
For Mission Space, I can't really tell the difference between Space Shuttle America and this ride.
For Animal Kingdom, the rides are not abundant to say the least. Unless you really want to ride a double sided RC, it wouldn't go there.

Blizzard Beach has some great slides that never have a line hidden towards the back-left of the park. You can only access it by stairs - not from the ski lift. BTW - the ski lift isn't worth the wait if there's a long line, it's faster to take the stairs, and the climb isn't bad at all.
I also rode Slush Gusher with about a 20 minute wait. It wasn't worth it. It isn't worth it with even a 5 minute wait. It was very uncomfortable; water is blasted in your face and when you get to the bottom, there's no splash. My back hurt a lot after riding it. I assume the same goes for the really tall one, too.
I never did the pool there, since Blizzard Beach is mostly good for slides. The family tube slide is good; much better than Typhoon Lagoon's. Also, don't worry about getting chairs unless you plan on resting a while. It's not worth it to have to have someone watch your stuff. Just rent a locker and throw everything, including towels, in there. I'm pretty sure it's unlimited access all day. ($10.00 security deposit, then when you return the key, you can get either $5.00 back or a disney traveler's mug)
One thing I hope Hurricane Harbor does is keep the patios wet all the time. It's nice on your feet to not have to worry about getting burned.
There are distributing machines that give you a return time. It also gives you a time when you can go and get your next fastpass time. They only allow so many passes per ride, per hour. It doesn't affect capacity too bad. It's like you are waiting in a line while you can go ride other stuff at the same time. I got well over 10 fastpasses on my last visit.
Once you enter the park, hold onto your admission ticket. To get a fastpass, walk up to the ride you want to use it on, then put your ticket in the fastpass machine. They have signs all over the place, so you'll find it easily. Then you get a fastpass ticket with a time. When it becomes close to that time, walk twords the ride, and use it. You can only have a fastpass for one ride at a time. And the earlier you get you're fastpass, the better. Usually fastpasses run out by 4:00 (Tell me if this is wrong, because sometimes it runs out later or earlier, depending on how crowded the park is). According to TR I have read, good friday and Easter are usually pretty empty at amusement parks. I will be at Busch Gardens Tampa on Good Friday, so I am expecting short lines.
Space Mountain's is kind of hard to find. Yeah, otherwise, just look for the FastPass machines. They'll print you a receipt telling you between what times to come back. When you come back, just bring along the receipt and the attendant will let you in pretty close to the front of the line. Remember, you can only have one out at a time, so don't get one if the regular line is pretty short.

It all depends on the type of ground. Racing Rapids has blacktop (which is extremely painful when the sun is on it to walk on), but they also have (cement/concrete) in some places which is very comfortable to walk on.
Waterparks should choose carefully. The other problem with bare feet on a surface is that some not only burn, but they are just painful (in one place especially at Noah's Ark).
