New in the Dells

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Just received the 2005 Wisconsin Dells Travel and Attraction guide today. I thought I would update ya'll on what will debut in the Dells this summer and what's possibly in store for 2006.

Let me start by saying that Mt. Olympus is really promoting the new "mega-park". Lets take a look at hotel deals that are out there.

Park admission included with stay:
Aloha Beach
AmericanWorld Hotel
Skyline Hotel and Suites
Pleasantview Motel
Treasure Island
Wintergreen

Hotels with discount packages for guests:
Best Western
AmericInn
Riverwalk Hotel
Grand Marquis
Anitqua Bay
The Polynesian
Riviera Suites
Shamrock Motel and Resort
Cliffside Resort
and More

That is startling!

-Mt. Olympus
New Mega Park!
Hades: "Banish Yourself to the Underworld."
Triton waterslide complex(8 slides)
revamped go-cart track

-Noah's Ark
Black Anaconda(in place of Thunder Rapids)- It looks as if it will spiral down the hill back and forth with hills. It looks to be dark purple from the map.

-Wild Thing Jet Boat Ride

-Atlantis Hotel
Coral Reef Lagoon indoor waterpark(It looks like a main pool with a slide, waterfall, b-ball hoops, and flatable water toys.

-Chula Vista- New for 2006-
New Mayan Temple children waterplay structure(I'm not sure if it is indoor or outdoor. It will include a tipping bucket and a few slides, etc.)
Also, a new indoor waterpark. It actually looks pretty sweet. They have an overhead view of the layout. It includes a wavepool, a lazy river, at least 1 whirlpool, something that looks like a Master Blaster slide, a Proslide Tornado, a Proslide Toilet Bowl, a Proslide Behemoth Bowl, a Proslide Mammoth Family slide, a 4 slide version of racing mat slides from Proslide and a set of 2 waterslides which can be tube slides, body slides, or 1 of each. It looks pretty neat. The best of Proslide! lol Too bad ya'll have to wait until 2006.

Edit: I guess the layout has already changed. http://www.chulavistaresort.com/waterpa ... erpark.htm
This shows a different layout than the one in the guide. Still nice if you ask me!

-Copa Cabana
Lost Harbor indoor waterpark. Nothing special.

-Great Wolf Lodge
Howlin' Tornado- Indoor(sort of) Proslide Tornado

-Kalahari
New Kahunaville Island Restaurant and Bar
New Indoor Kid's Water Feature- fun for the kids. Nothing HUGE.

-Wilderness
Hurricane Waterslide- Outdoor Prolside Tornado
Cannonball Waterslide- Outdoor Proslide Toilet Bowl slide with tubes
Outdoor Wave Pool- Was the Great Tsunami but they are promoting it as new.
New poolside cabanas.

That is just a gist of what is going on at the Dells. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Yeah, even though there aren't a lot of NEW separate attractions, all the places are adding plenty of great stuff. I am amazed at how much Mount Olympus has expanded the last 2 summers. I will deffinately be looking forward to my trip to the Dells this year.
2010 is going to be one to remember forever!!
