Could rumors be true?

that is the question...... could the rumors on sceamscape be true?.. think about it for a while.... most of their rumors have come true.. like the rumor about us getting S:UF... and the rumor about shockwave being scrapped..... and the rumor about gurnee getting a hurricane harbor........ are these just rumors or are they true facts????

I'm using your post as an example, so just bear with me.

Screamscapes rumor of SfGam came after superman colored track showed up at the park and after SfGadv announced the same ride with the same color of track.

Screamscapes rumor of Shockwave being scrapped came after deconstruction already started. Maybe the scrapping part was just an assumption by someone?

Screamscapes rumor of gurnee getting a Hurricane Harbor came after they already announced it in the conference call. I think I was even the person who emailed Lance about that one. In fact, I think this was posted as news because it came from the CEOs mouth himself.

To answer your question. Yes, the rumors on Screamscape can be true. In fact many of them are. A lot of people who do know, do in fact accidentially leak. Many of the rumors on Screamscape are given to them by people like you and me. But the weird thing is that some of us do know stuff and then tell Screamscape. I can make a bet that some of the current rumors on their site may in fact come true.

I think the best way to go about Screamscape rumors is just to only look at the ones that have any chance of happening. I mean some of those rumors are so farfetched I don't understand how anyone believes them.

Screamscape is the kind of site where I could email them saying that Sky Trek Tower is being converted to a 300ft Giant Drop and they would probably post it as a rumor.

well look at it, most the rurmors on scream scape, are commen sense, superman collored track arives the parking lot, One could only think superman ultimate flight, what other superman coaster has B&M made in the USA? Shockwave was 14 years old and the Park managment hatted it, and now they had their chance to get rid of it for good. This is all commen sense.

B&M made the other S:UF's in SFoG and SFGAdv before ours was constructed.....^^^^ those are "other superman rides.....

Well, B&M also made Superman: Krypton Coaster at SFFT, even thought it doesn't have the yellow rails.

There are two sides to this coin, On one side, there are a lot of farfetched rumors on that site that have come true. If memory serves me correctly, they were the first to post anything about Cedar Point getting a 120mph launced coaster. They also were the first to come up with PKI getting a Huss Giant Frisbee for '03. They also posted stuff about Whizzer closing long before SFGAm made any announcement, and had stuff about us getting up to four new flats for '04.

On the other side, there was the Tumbleweed thing, as well as all of the Shockwave may be rebuilt stuff. They immediately think every year that whatever flat is closed for rehab will be removed.

I guess, you just never know. I myself don't visit that site very much anymore. I don't like getting my hopes up for something that someone could have made up and sent in as a rumor.

I think a person's common sense would play a big role in deciding what could be true and then what is definitley false.

Think about it: We all know (or should know) that any theme park won't be getting a 800 foot tall B&M coaster that goes upside down 35 times and only exerts 4 G's in the near future.

However, saying something in the line of getting a new prototype from a bankrupt coaster business may not be true, but it sure sounds more reasonable, and then likely to be true.

Well, when Screamscape claimed that Condor was being removed,
I emailed them right away, telling them that it's just being rehabed.

I do agree with what was said earlier from Chitown. You can never
trust where Screamscape or any other informational site get their
rumors from. I honestly could email them and say that I heard that
we were getting a 4D in 2006, and yeah, they would probably post it.

That's why I hate rumors. I do visit Screamscape every day, but if
a rumor comes out, I won't bother with it, until I actually hear it come
straight from Six Flags, not some "second hand" site, if you get what
I'm saying.

Another claim to this is, Coaster-net's rumors. In October, I believe,
a rumor was posted saying that a new coaster is being built at SFGAm.
A person saw "new" blue track and "new" white supports in the backlot
when they visited the park. So, the Rumor was a new coaster. I emailed
the site and said, It's not a new coaster, it's the pieces of our old coaster
Shockwave. That killed that rumor.

All rumors do is, it gets our hopes up. When the rumors about Shockwave
being rebuilt, I got all excited, but once the TRUTH came out, it was a
major let down. So, people, never believe any of the Rumors that
come out. Just do what I do and wait till an official announcement
is made.

That rumor doesn't sound at all believeable to me.......... I mean HOW can they take down two of the most fun water rides I've ever been on!!!!!!! No one else's water rides can compare to ours.....
