Which coaster element(s) thrilled/terrified you the first time you experienced them? Mine, in no particular order, were: Batman:TR's zero-G roll, Deja Vu's boomerang/cobra roll, and Superman:UF's pretzel loop (I can't breathe! I can't breathe!).

It's RAGING BULL!!!
In my nine years of roller-coaster riding, I would have to say that the pretzel loop is what astonished me the most, though I was a bit petrified about the double corkscrew on Deja Vu when I first rode it, because I haven't experienced this element before. This doesn't apply to Shockwave or Demon, by the way.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
Prolly mr. freezes top hat at six flags st louis. It was sooo wierd, hardly heart line. So when you went up into it, and out of it you were flying out of your chair
^^^
I would have to agree with that. Mr. Freeze is the only element that has ever sort of scared me on my first ride. It is the most free element I have ever experienced because there is no OTSR holding you in. Man I have to get back there in April.
S:UF's pretzal loop didn't scare me, but it definatly surprised me the first time I went through it. I didn't expect those forces at all.
The only thing that scared me was the first time I rode X. At the top of the lift hill I had no idea what was going to happen, I heard rumors about it vallying and I was on the first train of the day so I was freaked out. Then in the middle of the ride my legs were all over the place which made it feel like I might wiggle myself loose or something. Best ride ever.

Vertical drop on Giant Drop, Vertical Velocity's Back spike, Raging Bull's first drop.
They dont scare me anymore but they did give me a good rush the first few times (not to mention the anxiety in line). I guess Giant Drop is the only ride that can still get my heart to beat a little bit faster.
OK I guess that I would have to agree about Mr Freezes top hat. It was the 1st time in a looooong time that I was scared to death. Sweaty hands and everything. What scared me the most is the fact that you do not have OTSR but that is also what makes the ride so awesome. Great airtime.
Oh yeah, I was deathly afraid of Giant Drop. I still tend to get a little scared. I don't know what it is but something about that drop scares me. Especially when you're waiting at the very top.
Giant Drop used to do it for me, but now it's PKI's Drop Zone!
In terms of coaster elements, V2's launch, SUF's pretzel loop, RB's first Drop, my first looper(Demon) terrified me, AE backwards for the first time, Vortex(PKI) double corkscrew, is taken at slow speed, equaling lots of hangtime, Beast's double helix, and Kumba's zero g roll(awesome!!).
But weirdly enough, the one thing that scared me the most on a roller coaster was back in 99, before I was really into coasters. My first time ever to GAm, and the first coaster we rode was Whizzer. When you start going down the first drop, you are lulled into a false sense of security. Then at the bottom when you bank hard to the right..... God I thought I was going to fall out. Now I love seeing first timers put their hands up going down that drop, and watch them grab on for dear life during that curve!!
I don't a certain element ever scared me, it was more the fear of going upside down, which I later learned is no big deal. I used to be very afraid of big roller coasters and it took a marathon day at BGT to open me up. Later I had a big day at CP and later that year I hit up PKI. Soon after I became a "enthusiast" . I never seemed to think about actual elements pertaining to how scared I was of a ride. But I really can't remember when I was really "scared" of roller coasters, besides the first ride of the day.
Giant Drop scares me the 1st time I ride it every season. I don't know why. After that I am fine and can ride it everytime with no problem but my fiance practically has to drag me on it the 1st time of the season
I forgot to mention Raging Bull's first drop (into the tunnel), V2's two spikes (both front and back), and the first drop on the American Eagle backward train - they really freaked me out because the first time I experienced them, it was at night!
I also freaked out over the Giant Drop my first time aboard it - and occasionally do to this day. It isn't so much the 200 feet up - it's the 200 feet down!

Probably the most terrifying thrill ride moment... Kissimmee's 300 foot skycoaster. It was my first skycoaster, and I rode it alone.
Superman: The Escape also creeped me out for some reason the first couple times I rode it. I think it was just the verticalness.
Hypersonic's Launch scared me the first time, as did Xcelerator the following year, and Top Thrill Dragster.
A lot of you guys say Giant Drop.. when I first rode it was the year it opened and it was my FIRST thrill ride EVER. It was kinda creepy the first few times. Acrophobia at SFOG got me last year when I first rode it too.
The element that thrills me the most is spinning downwards, I don't know why, it just kind of gives me a feeling of flight, I especially enjoyed this on TTD because is was so fast. the only other ride i've been on with a similar element was wicked twister's back tower, who'd've thought haveing both towers twist would make such a difference to me having ridden V2, but that downward spiral...
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
The Launch On Top Thrill Dragster Thrilled Me The Most. The Top Hat On Mr. Freeze Scared Me The Most, Espically Backwards! I ROde It Like 15 Times Though.
Hrmm, only 2 rides/elements that have scared me any were, back in 1997, my frist S&S Ride, and only second freefall ride was Big Shot on Stratosphere Tower in Vegas.
And second was last year (2003 actually), at IAAPA when we got free previews on the S&S Dragster ride at Old Town, my first time I was fairly nervous, as 0-118 mph in under 2 seconds, that just doesnt sound right. Is a really fun ride though, especially when it's free (ride lasts less than 5 seconds not including the slow return to the station, and they charge something like $25 per rider) Also for that free preview they didnt require the crotch strap on the 5 point harnesses, as the extremely sudden braking at the end can really hurt badly as there is nothing to brace your feet on in front of you, especially as a passenger. Crotch strap when attached does most of the stopping, anyone who's ridden it outside of that VIP thing probably knows that by now

For some reason the first time i rode Deja vu simply going up backwords with all your weight on the restraint scared me a bit. Same thing with the stop on v2's back tower. Besides that i can't think of anything that scared me but my first time on supermans pretzel loop was really great, to bad its the only good part of the ride.
Three elements have spooked me. The slow pull out backward up the first tower on D'Vu. The entrance of the pretzel loop - float time right before diving face first at the ground The lift hill on Raging Bull - My first time on it I tried hands up - but ended up grabbing the bottom of my seat at the bottom of the drop. On the bright side this element also got me hooked on the ride and I have been riding hands free ever since.
Let me add something new to the topic. What element got you hooked on a ride? In other words right after you rode it, you wanted to do it again?
For me it is the Tophat on Mr. Freeze, and the first loop on Batman at SFSTL.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.
