2nd Generation 4d Coming soon!!!

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Shockwave8802 on December 16th, 2004, 9:26 pm
The good news is that they are building a nother 4d.
The bad news is that it will be built in Japan.

Here is the URL to check it out. http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/iaa ... a1_e.shtml
It will be under the heading [b]news from switzerland and germany[b]

If this works, 4d's could become BIG!!, thus GA might get one in the next 7 years (this is a guss, only if this version is a sucess)

The only Question left is WHY JAPAN? WHY NO GREAT AMERICA???

We can only hope GA gets one

Because Great America learned its lesson with an Unproven design and doesnt want to have a "Giant Lawn Ornament" once again.

One thing though, is why do people call Deja Vu a Big Lawn Ornament? what does that have to do with anything?

But anyway, I beleive that if this 4D is improved, look for perhaps anyother park to build the 3rd ride and then maybe GA gets a fourth one.

I think its a good idea that B&M are trying to build a launched 4d. At first i thought that they were designing the robocoaster. I think the robo coaster is overdoing it.

Lawn ornaments are decoration for your lawn. When DejaVu is SBNO it acts like a big lawn ornament. Probably started to be called a lawn ornament when they fixed the train since it was down for weeks. At least thats the first time I heard it being called a lawn ornament.

Um, where did we get the idea that B&M was designing a launched 4D?

To my knowledge it's S&S designing a traditional 4D coaster.

and Intamin is also looking into building a 4th Dimension coaster.

So far, B&M, S&S Arrow, and Intamin have shown knowledge/interest with the 4d.

Any other companys want to jump on the bandwagon? Togo, I know your reading. (FYI: Togo, I'm just kidding. )

I thought the same exact thing.

Personally though, if any one company could come out with a reliable 4d design, it would be B&M. But that might just be because I'm biased but whatever. :D

at Intamin a very compact coaster concept with a linear motor based on the Arrow development X at Six Flags Magic Mountain is under discussion -

Intamin is discussing a launched 4d.

I don't know or care. It was a joke. You know, they could come back and torture some more people if they wanted to. You know there is a stupid park somewhere that would buy a new Togo prototype.

Phew, it's a good thing you told Togo you were just kidding...if they took that seriously the 4D concept might just be lost forever...

Exactly. They learned 2 lessons. 1. Don't buy a prototype that hasn't been proven. 2. Don't buy anything from Vekoma.

When/If SfGam receives a 4d, it will be after another 2 or so from that company have already been built. So don't expect SfGam to receive one in the near future. BUT, they could be the next North American park to recceive one though.

I found an article(and review) about X, how SfMM ended up getting it, and other technical information. It explains a lot!

TOGO technically no longer exists from what I understand, at least not Coaster wise, Premeir Rides cut out the whole TOGO Coaster Line (for the past decade or so, Premeir and TOGO were basically the same company, just on different sides of the Ocean). Premeir I think still does offer the Heartline Coaster like UltraTwister at Astroworld, but I dont see them selling one of those in the near future :)

last time I saw a TOGO booth at IAAPA was back in like 2001, they were trying to sell simulators and ride films, they were already out of the coaster thing.

I'm pretty sure that Stunt Fall was planned before the problems with the DejaVu's occured. Track was at WBMW in 2001 and the DejaVu's were just opening. Has there been another GIB added since then. No. I do sau Six Flags learned their lesson. Anyways, like Woodland said, Stunt Fall is the most reliable of all the GIB's mostly because Vekoma is so close to be able to help get the ride going reliably.

Did anybody else go to the press meeting for Deja Vu back in the day? It was hilarious when people would ask Jim Wintrode about how the coaster's lift would work and he replies "Well the ride is still in the design process." *STILL IN THE DESIGN PROCESS WHEN IT IS BEING INSTALLED IN 6 MONTHS* somebody really screwed up. That was almost as funny as watching the last piece of track go in on Deja Vu.. and realizing there as still a 2 FOOT GAP in the track in the loop. Whoops!

They don't list the coasters in traveling carnivals, etc. They do list all upcoming coasters that have been announced or ones that have shown enough evidence of what they are and what park they will be located at. The only information known at this time is that this ride will be a 4d and that is not enough info for a valid page on RCDB.com .
