WDW has 4 parks, DLR has 2.....and considering the 4 WDW parks are better than the 2 DLR ones and WDW has a ton of other stuff to do, i'll go with WDW.
I think both parks are good, but when it comes to publicity, WDW takes the cake.
For example: Whenever I see the Disney Vacation commercials, you always see many things only located at wdw just by the surrondings. You never really see DL type of things. And the ending where the telephone number/e-mail address is you always see Cinderella Castle, so it seems to me that WDW is gaining more from DL.
And I know of 2-3 people and their families that ever went to DL. Most would go to WDW since it is closer.
I've been too both but I went Disney Land when I was really little, so I don't remember anything about it. However with Disney World I've been there 3 times. (I've also been on the cruise *thumbs up) And I would say that Disney World is better, seeing as they have more parks and more rides.
I'll be going to WDW for the first time since I was 3 in January/February so I don't really know, but from what I have read, heard, and saw, Disney World takes the cake.
I did a report on disneyland and the history of roller coasters and disneyland when it first opened was a disaster and basically the reason it failed was because lack of land. So walt disney bought so much land in florida he still has room for improvement.

Disneyland was hardly a disaster, it was a huge hit. You may have gotten it confused, the only thing holding it back from becoming WDW was land, and WDW wouldn't have been built if Disneyland was a disaster.
"But it comprises a mere few dozen acres among WDW's 35,000 acres. That's 47 square miles, roughly the size of two Manhattan islands, filled with four theme parks, two waterparks, 30 resort hotels, six golf courses, two shopping-dining-entertainment complexes and -- Are you still with me? -- enough other diversions to keep over 54,000 "cast members" (that's Disney-speak for employees) busy catering to tens of millions of guests annually. "
While the 35,000 acres is definitely massive, less than one fourth of that has been developed. Disneyland, including the resort properties, covers about 300 acres.
I dont think you can really compare the two. It really isnt a fair comparison.
Now, if you compare the two "Magic Kingdom" parks, then your'e talking.
Disneyland has more attractions, a more nostalgic feel, and far more history. You have to remember that Walt had died before actual construction at the Florida property had begun. While the parks are alike in many ways, they are not identical. For comparisons, we will refer to Disneyland as DL and the Magic Kingdom at WDW as MK.
While the parks are laid out in generally the same way, MK does not include the New Orleans Square area as DL does. But on the same vein, DL does not include the Liberty Square area that the MK has. While the castles are vastly different was well, they each contain their own charm. DL has a Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough attraction, while Cinderella Castle at MK does not. The MK tries to have a Toontown themed area, but DL is far better. Advantage DL.
MK has a greater aura of being a far away place, because it really is. You have to drive almost five miles from the interstate to just get to the parking lot, then take a 1 mile ferry boat across the Seven Seas Lagoon (or monorail around) to the actual front gate. DL was once like thins, but as development moved in that aura was lost. Advantage MK.
DL has a tie with Walt that MK will never have. Walt was at DL almost every day that he was able. He kept an apartment above the Main Street Fire Station. He even fished in the Rivers of America when they used to stock it with catfish. Before the park opened, Walt went so far as to buy a hot dog, begin to eat it and walk at the same time, and if there wasn't a garbage can by the time he was done, the cans were moved so there was a convenient place to dispose of trash, rather than on the ground. Large advantage to DL.
DL has more "little" stuff to do than the MK. Davy Crockett explorer canoes, Grand Canyon and Primeval World dioramas on the Disneyland Railroad, sailing ship Columbia, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Indiana Jones Adventure, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and the list goes on. The MK has some attractions that DL does not, but DL still has far more. Advantage DL.
While you can compare the two properties, and WDW would beat out the California property hands down, Disneyland wins as the quintisential Disney park.
Being from California, I gotsa pick DL...not to mention it's the only park Walt got to see...It's the only one he walked through...that he worked on...and it's apparent. Although, every year I get slightly dissapointed every time that castle gets smaller and smaller.......but DCA has gotten better now that it has The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. That's AWESOME....and The Haunted Mansion is still my favorite. er...sorry...gettin' kind of off topic. Uh...so, yeah. DL is better....considering the land they have to work with. and...and...uh..............shut up! That's why!
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

No the first day it opened was a disaster, then they closed down for some amount of time and fixed up all the mistakes. And then walt disney saw that he didn't have alot of room to expand so he built disney world.

Yup. On July 17th, 1955 Disneyland opened, mainly to press and personal guests of Walt. But the tickets were easily duplicated and the crowd swelled to over 28,000. Rides broke down, food and drinks ran out, and high heel shoes were making dents in the fresh asphalt on Main Street USA because it was so hot. The water level on the Rivers of America was so high it was lapping at the Mark Twain Riverboats deck, and the boat was listing quite obviously because it was loaded too heavy on one side. It was a disaster.
But was all know how this story ends. Disneyland gives birth to the modern theme park and to one of the best theme park chains on the planet.
California Adventure is in my opinion the best Disney park, but Disney World is the better because of the 4 parks and room for more parks to build on the property. Also the Magic Kindom at Disneyland is in terrible condition and is run down, while WDW has clean parks that are in perfect condition.
I've only been to disney world, and I love it. Yeah, it does have a lot of kiddie things, but that is what I grew up on, and I think even though the song gets annoying, every time I go there, I will continue to sit on " It's a Small World" until my ears bleed, and ride " The Haunted Mansion until I finally realize that the ghosts sitting on your shoulders are just illusions.
Disneyland is better than the magic kingdom, but disneyworld beets disneyland resort with everything else.
Disneyland is better because it has the best fantasyland, toontown with roger rabbits cartton spin, it has the better space mnountain, an incredible pirates of the carribean in new orleans square 9which mk dosnt have) and the blue bayou restaurant. It has way more rides than disneyworld, Fantasmic!, it still has the original enchanted tiki room, and the better haunted mansion.
I dont know why ANYONE would think dca is disneys best park, because it is the absolute worst. Whats even sadder about it is that if they went with their originaly plans for resort expansion, disneyland would be better that disneyland. The WDC designed two theme parks , Long Beac Disneysea or Port Disney, a 3 billion dollar 256 acre park on the water in long beach with hotels and stuff around it, and Westcot, the BEST disney park ever created in my opinion, but never got built for a few reasons:
1. cost: the Westcot project was going to cost 3 billion dollars and 1 billion dollars in road expansions, and they needed the state to fund it.
2. Locals complained that they didnt want a 300 foot tall golden geodesic sphere looming over their backyards, and additional traffic (those bastards deserve to get lynched).
and 3. Disneyland paris faced financial problems because they built too may hotel rooms, and wasted millions of dollars on hotels that only had a 20% occupancy rate opening year. This resort's financial failure litterally shell shocked Michael Eisner, who is now budget paranoid and is too scared to build anything that is overly ambitious, so now we are stuck with crappy new rides, crapy new lands, and best of all, DCA!
So yea, disneyland park is better than the MK, but WDW beats it overall because or mgm, animal kingdom, all the hotels, downtown disney, boardwalk, and my favorite, EPCOT.
They have more money than any other park. They could easily use it to built the tallest and fastest coaster in the world or the best rated ride in the world.

Yea but why would they want to? It would be unpopular 10 years later. If you have a ride based entirely on thrills, then after people ride it a couple times it gets old, or something bigger will open somewhere else. Plus it would be ugly and clash with the rest of the park.
