Does anyone know how the Power Tower rides work with the air system they use?

They're shot off or thrusted down with compressed air.

It's very complex.

But in it's most basic form, there are 4 pistons that are as long as the tower is tall(smaller tubes inside the tower) air is pumped into those (from the Shot Tank which is the large tube in the middle of the 4 smaller tubes in the tower). That's really it. I remember for a while there was a really good detailed explanation on the S&S website. It doesnt seem to be there anymore though.

There are a bunch of pulleys that rocket the train up and down and they are moved using compressed air from what I have heard. This is why the down side falls faster than a regular drop ride - it is getting yanked down as opposed to just falling.

Is there any video clips of S&S's tower rides that are good quality?

as I recall, there is a cable that is attached to the top and bottom of the car. it goes all the way up and over the tower as well and down underneith it and then into the tubes mentioned above. inside those tubes, the cable is attached to...well I don't know what you would call it, but it blocks the entire tube so air can't move from one side of it to another. the compressed air is pumped into one side of the tube and released out of the other end. so if it is applied to the bottom of the tube and released from the top, the car moves down because the thing inside the tube is moving up.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
