My friend is trying to tell me that paramount is in talks to purchase land in southeast wisconsin to open up a big amusement park by 2006-07 hes trying to say he has legit sources, but hey what ever, that would be awesome to have some competition but i dont think they would do that.
Rode Raging Bull 9 times opening Day, lol to all who were scared of the weather.!.
We've been hearing rumors about an amusment park close to the Southeastern IL/WI border. Supposedly to get in competition with sfgam. I've heard so many, I really dont think it will happen.
I heard from this one ride op that in a few years SF will open up a new park in Florida. I think it would be cool because then it could be competition for Busch Gardens or Universal.
If there is one SF park I would actually like to have competition, it's SFGAm, in my opinion I think that our capacity is too low. We get people from WI and northern/midwest IL because there are no other parks of that size around.

Yeah, but wasn't there some SF property in Florida at one time?
As far as the whole SE WI deal, I doubt anything will happen. I've heard rumors, but I'm waiting for a qualified source of information before I believe anything.
Six flags doesnt have the money to build a new park or buy any new ones. Like mentioned above, they allready are selling off parks since there in debt. Also like said above, Six flags isnt into opening new parks, they only buy currently operating ones. When was the last time six flags themselves opened a park? The 70's?
I can't just get in a car and drive to the Dells or Vallyfair. I live on the very corner of Michigin. I am not just going to drive a couple of hours to see a 2nd rate park. But ya Great America is worth it.
Were getting a Water Park! WERE GETTING A WATER PARK!!!!!
You can't fly with egales if you hang around with Turkeys
It's true, for most people in WI going to SFGAm or the Dells is a weekend/day outing depending on the distance. I'm not going to drive 2 1/2 or 3 hours just to go to the Dells for a few hours during the day. I think a theme park near Madison would strike gold.

I also tend to think that it would not happen. Why would they want to build another theme park of a different brand so close??
Though the die-hards would eat it up, there are other regular general public whom would probably not think about attending because they are already satisfied with GA.
There are alot of the general public who want sky whirl back. There is alot of the general public who is unsatisfied with the family atmosphere, thats why they are fixing that up.
My main point was a company building a park from scratch.
It's not feasibly cost effective to do this in this era. This country is dotted with large corporate parks as well as small family owned parks.
The only chance I see for Wisconsin having a decent sized park would be Mt. Olympus (formerly Big Chiefs) changing into a park with multiple coasters, rides and attractions.
Heck, by the looks of it, they are leaning toward doing this in the future as they are adding a water coaster, another woodie, and are creating a POP atmosphere. Give it time, I think it will happen.
For the people complaining about having to drive 2-3 hours to get to a park, that really isn't bad compared to alot of states in this country.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
