Question about video capture devices

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby RBull4life on May 24th, 2004, 11:40 am
I was thinking about getting a USB video capture device to transfer my old analog camcorder movies to VCD. Does anybody know how the transfer looks when completed? Will the quality hold up on a regular TV, or does it only look good when its playing in a smaller size window on my computer?
I want to transfer hours of Great America footage, including Fright Fest from 1999, and 2003.

It all depends how you want it to look. You can make it high quality but it wil take up a lot of hard drive space. If you want to be able to share over the internet you are going to want to make a less quality video so you can share/steam it fast. A gig movie would get people mad who are downloading it.

I wouldn't say this is the best form to get the information you are looking for. Here is a site/form that will help you out with your video capture needs.
Hope that helps.

If you have a desktop I would recommend you get a PCI card instead of a USB. I've heard that the USB (even 2.0) doesn't have nearly as good quality, however, I'm sure it's improving.
