Valleyfair trip

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I'm going to valleyfair this weekend, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or tips. I'll only be able to stay for about five or six hours, so if anybody could suggest rides that I could skip that aren't very fun or something like that it would be great.

From what I've heard, Steel Venom wont be open unless it has new supports. Otherwise, It looks like a great park. Im anxious to see how Excalibur was in your TR. Looks can be deciving!

I heard from a friend that Excalibur used to be great but it got some brakes (on the first hill as well as other places) and isn't as fun as it used to be.

Valleyfair! Is a decent park... Wild Thing is HORRIBLE, so don't expect much. Operations were good when I was there, and it's early in the season too so everything should be nice. Head to Steel Venom first if it is open, and don't miss Excaliber... despite it's oddball location.

How is wild thing horrible, it looks like it'd be kind of fun. I guess looks can be deceiving, I thought mean streak would be great before I rode it too.

It's a nice looking coaster... doesn't do much of anything though. There isn't a spot of airtime, and it's slow and extremely trimmed. The trains seat you like coffins and you can hardly see anything over them. The bunny hops are so rampy that they don't offer even a hint of airtime, let alone the speed you take them at is so minimal that they still wouldn't give airtime had they been profiled decently. The entire ride is pretty ramp-tacular, just don't expect much from it. It's easily the worst hyper coaster in the world, and not many will disagree. Sure does look nice though.
