In other news, Six Flags Magic Mountain is receiving it's new devil Larson Looper / Ring of FIRE / FIREball coaster "rainbow on fire" for 2020. It's going to be too HOT to handle for people. https://themeparksandtravels.files.word ... =750%2C563 Just kidding about the 2nd part.

https://rcdb.com/1314.htm And yes, this is Reverchon whereas Great America had Zamperla, but they are basically the exact same ride.
After so many issues for all those rides like Ragin Cajun, I don't know why any park has them at all including Disney World's Animal Kingdom (where a mechanic died).

Not an amusement park, but at a carnival in June, a person was injured. Though, I want to clarify that this was NOT a customer of the carnival. This was a maintenance person at the carnival that has to have their leg amputated. This ride is a Larson FIREball / Ring of Fire / like the Hangover ride, but smaller.

^I don't see why it wouldn't be open by than. That's awhile from now.
I don't want to just mention completely horrible things, so I will mention the news about Six Flags Over Texas deconstructing the Aquaman ride. Aquaman was a shoot the chutes water ride like Splash Water Falls, or they have one at Six Flags St. Louis. The Six Flags St. Louis one though is closed for this year for refurbishment. So, who knows if they are replacing that one with Aquaman, or are they doing something else to it for refurbishment. Who knows what Aquaman will be either?

Is it just me or does anyone else find RMC trains a bit uncomfortable?? The seats are super hard plastic with almost no padding! And the lapbars are time consuming to get off once the ride ends!
Outlaw Run was terrible when I rode it this year: there's a huge "bump" at bottom of first drop that killed my tailbone and it was bumpy during much of the ride! I tried it in rows 9. 11 and 12 and same result .The ride is only 10 years old...
Eagle is much less rough (to me) than Outlaw Run was....

The newest version of RMC trains as seen on HP's Wildcats Revenge are far Superior. Restrains easy to open at the end of the ride, flat spot on the lapbar where it meets your body, and a rounded plastic seat belt buckle that doesn't dig into your flesh when it inevitably gets stuck between you and the lapbar. Still no padding but that defeats the lapbar, so don't look for that. Also they have changed their design philosophy, the airtime, while just as strong as before, no longer comes on as suddenly, it eases you into it making for a far more comfortable ride.

I rode Outlaw Run multiple times at the end of June and I didn't notice any painful bumps. It seemed just as out of control, yet smooth as when I first rode it in 2014. Definitely smoother then Eagle has ever been at any point in my life. So don't agree with you at all.....then again I saw a video the other day where some guy called Goliath rough and said the trains were uncomfortable. I guess you can't please everyone.

Dave - thanks for weighing in. I've been on Eagle about 150x or more in my life. The first drop has never been rough or had a huge BUMP like Outlaw does! I was at Silver Dollar on 8/8. I tried Outlaw Run in 12th row (By far the worst in terms of that nasty BUMP), 11th, 10th and 9th rows I believe. It was bad in all rows. It was also shaky during most of the ride after that.
I tried giving it a chance but it was just not fun to ride!

So I went to Six Flags America as a gametime decision. I spent almost 5 hours there and got 8 new coaster credits (our old Rajin Cajun was down all day). Superman was down almost all the day.
Some observations: That park HURTS extremely badly! All but 1 coaster had 1 train; the operators are VERY slow and seemed to be disinterested; They have a version of the old "Take 5" where they scan the platform for 10 seconds. They did this at every ride for departure and return and it's TOTALLY unnecessary for return when there's ONE train running. The park is kind of a dump and half the rides were not running. I only went there because I had been at 2 VA parks.
And Superman was a bit rough in those giant helixes and those leg irons are painful and unnecessary!
The 2 Vekoma coasters are pretty awful and just reinforced why I don't like Vekoma rides at all.

Apparently Muppet*Vision 3D is closing at Hollywood Studios.
As a Muppets fan, this is devastating news. It was Henson’s last Muppet project and they recently renovated the seats in the theater, which I don’t understand. Disney is probably doing this to make way for the new Monsters Inc. attraction, which was the best thing announced at D23 for me, but I don’t know why they don’t just use Animation Courtyard instead.
Does anybody else care about this? Heck, I don’t know if anybody will see this.
