Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

This article is from 2009 so I wouldn't be surprised if some of you already seen this article or have heard anything about it. Ive read on another article that the park actually lets the woman in to see her "husband" 300 times a year...80 miles away. I wonder if she gets in for free or if she is committed and buys a season pass. Wonder if they took a little piece off the coaster and turned it into a wedding ring lmao.

Not a Roller Coaster. Journalism at its finest again. 1001 Nachts is a flat ride similar to the TrailBlazer ride SFGAm used to have. There was actually a show that had a segment on this at one time that showed her actually "making out" with the ride. It was very strange to say the least.

EDIT: Found the documentary in question

Yeah, seen this before a while back. People like this are obviously seriously flawed and serve no purpose in society. You'll notice the article is actually from 2009, and since that has happened and she has changed her surname to Weber, as in the manufacturer of the ride.

WTF??? I understand "liking" a ride or coaster, but some people need help. I now feel bad for watching this. It is like I have enabled this sick individual's behavior, just by watching.

This is pathetic. It's stuff like this that gives people who are even casually into the hobby a bad name.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!

Seriously people? It's not just a fetish thats gone too far, these are people who feel that they're in genuine relationships with these objects, and it's not something they can control. I get that it's different and isn't something super common, but that doesn't give you the right to be assholes about it. So what if they love an object? They aren't hurting anyone, they aren't making a big deal out of it, and most importantly, they're happy. So much for the world becoming more accepting.

I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Sure they do, they make everyone else feel better by making us know we will never be that weird.

Now with my derogatory comments aside, people like this clearly have some developmental issues here. My guess is they never felt the satisfaction of belonging or being needed by anyone early on in their lives. In this particular case, she explains that her father always seemed very distant. Perhaps she never learned how to form a good relationship with someone because of these issues with her father. Unfortunately, things just seem to spiral out of control and they end up seeming "weird" to others and few people ever want to associate with people like this. The only way they have left to feel loved is to project it from inanimate objects. Then again, I'm not a professional and these are just my thoughts.

If by accepting you mean the ridiculous notion that the needs of the very few should outweigh the needs of the many then I don't want to be part of an accepting world. Bottom line is that some things are flat out crazy and if you don't label it as such then you lose all grip on what reality really is.

I do not think we were being assholes...it just does not make sense, and personally I don't think it is real. It is just a way to get attention. A distant father can not be replaced by making out with a hunk of grease covered metal, after all, wouldn't she just be setting herself up in another one-sided relationship? I know what you are going to say...the ride fulfills her needs. I understand that each of us has our own quirks, and problems, and we all need to deal with them in our own way. I consider myself to be very open-minded and accepting of others choices, I am straight, but I have gay friends, I am white, but I have Black, Latino, and friends of other ethnicity (race is not a choice, just making a point). I just think we as members of the human race, need to stop making excuses for everyone and everything...sometimes a sickness is a sickness.

Eventually they will have to tear this ride down...will the park be charged with murder? Will the lady file and win a civil case in court? for a ton of cash? will she snap and do harm to others? what is next? We need to use a bit of common sense, and stop this behavior.
