Looks like Matt Ouimet is finally cleaning house of all the crappy and/or problematic rides that Dick Kinzel seemed to embrace keeping for no reason.

The main rumor is a giga coaster. Who know's.

Anyone wanna guess on other rides Matt will remove?

However I didn't hate Space Spiral OR Wildcat when I went there.

Guess: Demon Drop at Dorney Park, or whatever they call it now...
Guess: Kings Dominion Shockwave
Guess: Mean Streak Cedar Point - Oh, no that would be too obviously what the people don't like.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of those Monster / Octopus rides go. The one at Cedar Point is 42 years old, and I have seen it broke down a couple of times. The problem though I see though with these especially chain parks is that they are going more for the outrageous / tall / fast rides to put into the park. They aren't thinking hey we have aging rides that could breakdown for good in 2 months, and thus we should replace it with another one of those types of rides. Cedar Point especially has a lot of older rides like the Matterhorn, Musik Express, an Orbit ride that I wouldn't be surprised if it's older than Great Americas, etc. To me, they should be replacing them with newer versions. For something like the Musik Express, Bertazzon makes a wonderful Himilaya ride that really reminds me of the older Reverchon version.

Parks have to remember that people go to these parks for everything, and not just what's new for the year. I really just hope the solution isn't to just dump old rides, and NOT replace them with the same types of rides.

I could easily see Knotts putting in a intamin hyper such as Skyrush in its place. A ride like Skyrush would do wonders for this park. Also because Knotts is the only major Cedar Fair park that doesnt have a hyper/mega coaster.
Can't live without Coasters!!!
