I'm not looking for a standard dictionary definition of a roller coaster. Instead, I'm looking for what you think a roller coaster is. The reason I ask is because of rides like Disko Coaster, Disko Jester's Wild Ride, Superman the Escape, Half Pipe at Elitch Gardens, and V2. I read somewhere that someone said that Superman the Escape shouldn't even be considered a coaster because it's just like an Intamin Generation Drop 1 ride. It might have been Cedar Point complaining...
So, my opinion / definition would be a ride in which the vehicle isn't stuck in one area (For instance, a Himilaya car keeps going around in a circle), and power has to be released for sometime / thus uses gravity (V2 has Lims, but than the ride lets go of them for a little bit). Another question is, is a ride like the Sea World San Diego a coaster. Can you consider a partial water ride be a coaster? Even Splash Mountain has a small "coaster portion".. Why isn't a Disko considered a coaster if Half Pipe at Elitch Garden is considered one?
Is this ride - G-Force carnival ride a coaster? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A42X6oF0Lig
