I'm sure they're going to slow the initial launch, which is fairly easy, whenever they have issues and run short on LIM's they take 2 sets out of the total of 6 sets of lims off the transfer table/launch track, so that's not an issue, but it should be awesome, thing I'm looking most forward to is rocketing up the spike and having the LIM's catch the train and drag it to the top. If it wasn't for that, really it wouldn't do anything for the ride, but I'm actually looking forwards to this. Good move on Six Flags part. New experience doesn't get any cheaper than this conversion.

I just see this being painful for tall people. I hate when I get thrown forward, then positive Gs fold my body in half. I know the restraints are good, but I wonder how comfortable it will be and how much they tested this.
I'll be going to SFstl for the first time in late May so hopefully it will be up and functioning properly by then. I can't wait to try it out! Is the ride rough at all?

Extremely rough, but since they got rid of the OTSR's and went with lapbars, it's tolerable. Also it seems to depend on other factors, I've had rides that have been almost smooth-ish and rides that you remember for a while

Hmmm. I've never had any roughness complaints. I thought it was remarkably smooth.
problem is those lateral forces were not designed to be part of the ride. It's not supposed to beat you against the side of the car repeatedly throughout the circuit
Plus if it was smooth, it'd still have OTSR's on it with no issues.

Try holding on to the front of the car during the first half of the ride?

^No I haven't. But to me, there is a difference between a ride being rough and a ride having lateral forces. For example, Thunderbolt slams you into the side of the car. While it's painful, I don't consider this rough. Now a ride on lets say....Zues at Mt Olympus is just flat out rough.
I guess I would have to ride it again, but I actually liked the lateral forces. When I get slammed around on coasters I usually just laugh the whole time. It makes the ride fun.
Oh and one thing I noticed about riding coasters in general is that when I was 300+ pounds I considered a lot of coasters rough and painful. But now being 200 with a fairly good swimmers build, I don't really find any coaster painful anymore except for the really bad ones. To me, my two least favorite coasters due to roughness are Cobra and La Ronde and Pirates Hideaway (forgot the park) on the Jersey Shore but that's from being 6'6".
Not saying, just sayin'.

When I saw the trains in operation and hitting the spike, especially on Sky Screamer, you can see the cars well, and no, same trains, just like in the picture with David Freese.
Oh, they also were handing out flyers stating a Preview Weekened for Season pass holders only April 28th - 29th.
So if you wanna go down that would be the time to do it...
