Inversions (Upside Down) - Hated, Favorite

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Ilovthevu' on October 16th, 2009, 11:17 am
I was researching inversions because I've been on some of these especially B&M rides, and couldn't figure out what they are called. I know what they do because I've been on them, but didn't really know the names of them.

Anyway, my favorite inversion is the cobra roll, and than the loop. Pretzel Loop would be after those 2. I think while the Batwing is a good inversion, I think it's overrated.

The inversion I don't like the most is the immelmann (To me, it doesn't do nothing at all). However, the Dive Loop I know I enjoy. For the immelmann to me, it's like you are going straight up, and than you turn over before you go upside down, but the Dive Loop, you start near the top, and it turns you over like you actually are going upside down.

That's why I don't really care for Talon, or Fire (Dueling Dragons) - immelmann even though they have more inversions. Iron Wolf has 2 inversions only, but because it you are standing up and you feel it, it's a better ride. If you were sitting down on Iron Wolf, I don't think it would be that good because there is no pressure going towards your feet on a sitdown.

Talon is one of if not the best Non-Batman inverted coasters around. Now if you said something like Silver Bullet, then id be agreeing with you

I like the pretzal loop on Superman. I also really liked Raptor's cobra roll.
The Mr. Six at the park is REALLY creepy

I'm ready for a Ragin' Cajun good time

My FAVORITE all time inversion is the heartline/zero-g roll. preferably the one on Bizarro(SFNE)/Scream! OMG! love it.

Now Mr. Ilovethevu, have you been on the immelmans of Griffon?! Those are sweet(on the outside seats).

Least fav. inversion is the loop...just too standard for me. haha I know I'm lame.

Fly to Lie or Lie to Fly on X2 (X in my case) are the best elements in my opinion.
I also love the Zero-G roll or the Jo-jo Roll on Hydra nice hang time there.

I don't really have a hated one, well, maybe the loop or corkscrew on Iron Wolf.

Favorite has to be any zero G roll. I love them. I have yet to experience one on a floorless, as those look amazing as well.

Oh, another favorite has to be Deja Vu's cobra roll. Especially when it was at our park, I loved seeing Bull and more from the cobra roll.

Favorite: Any inverted loop, Pretzel loop, or a GIANT FF-CLASS B&M Loop. ;)
Hated: Demon's Corkscrews. Possibly since that area of track is so fricken old.

Yeah it's a really good ride. I would recommend spending the money to get there because it is a very unique park.

Is the cobra a loop? I never knew...
Thought it was just an inversion, whereas the "loop" is a 180 turn.

Cobra would be a half loop, half corkscrew, half corkscrew again, half loop.
