The following statement is from Cedar Point's Public Relations Department.
At approximately 11 a.m. this morning, a train on the Magnum that was completing its ride bumped into a train that was stopped near the ride's loading station.
Three guests were taken to the park’s first aid station for examination. Two of the three were examined and went back into the park. The third was later taken to the local hospital to receive treatment for an asthma condition.
There were 24 guests on the train that was stopped in the holding area located just before the loading station. The other train had 35 guests in it. These guests were examined at the ride and went back into the park.
The incident was caused when a train did not stop completely in the braking area and continued to roll into the holding area. The train was traveling less than 10 mph when it bumped the stopped train.
The ride was closed immediately and will remain closed until the cause of the incident has been determined.

I guess they put tarps over the trains too...I have a good feeling there wont be 3 trains running for awhile now...

Has anyone been on this ride yet? I haven't heard much about it, I guess some people say it's the best ride out there but other than that it seems like it has been pretty quiet.
^ I have last Wednesday. Rode it twice. Once after waiting 2 hrs for it to open, and once at night. Its one hell of a ride, and takes the place of TTD, and MF as my favorite coasters at the park. Great speed, great airtime, and the launch tunnel midway through the ride can't be beat. Best ride though is at night.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

I have to agree with this! I do believe this is the new breed of rollercoasters. And now the first one has been done im sure we will soon see more inversions and higher speeds. Rode twice this past weekend and I still can't believe this amazing ride. The tunnel is intense as you come out of it at max speed and then the dive around the lagoon is awesome! All the twists and turns are awesome and the air time is way better than MF! Absolutely love the theming on the ride and how they incorperated the old Log flume station into it. All 6 trains were runiing and that kept the line moving. I do think they were having a little more trouble Sunday with the ride because it went down twice while we were in line. Then while on the ride we came to a complete stop in the tunnel and I actually thought there was a power loss or something and then......bam! The lsm's kicked in and we went flying. Overall, I think this is the best ride Cedar Point has done in a long time!
I can't wait to ride it again in a month!
Its funny that you mention feeling like a power failure in the tunnel. From what I was hearing in line Wednesday morning waiting to ride, Tuesday, Maverick was having a power failure inside the tunnel.

I don't need to write a Trip Report for Coastermania so far, because Maverick is the highlight of the trip right now.
It is such an amazing ride. It IS everything you could want in a coaster, in one coaster. I don't even know where to start. First off, with a full queue and no breakdowns, it only about an hour and fifteen minutes. I waited an hour and half last night because the ride host didn't seem to be doing their job so well. They group the station very well, unless you have a seat request, which they do not refuse. The trains look amazing, and are amazing. The only thing I don't like about them is the restraints. Props to intamin for not making your headbang, but if your arms are up, they get some bruises. The lift is the coolest feeling ever, because you fly up that thing. The drop in front feels amazing, and even more amazing in the back. All of the turns look snappy and painful, but they are so smooth I can't believe it. The first actual hill, is the most amazing airtime ever. Like, it may not have a lot of it throughout the whole ride, but when it does, it's ejector. The fancy name for oppisitie corkscrews in a row, is by far one of the smoothest inversions ever. Then the tunnel. Oh the tunnel. The lighting in here, is so cool. The lights at the end, you feel the heat off of them, and it's such a quick launch. It's so intense. Then the curve up and then down gives AMAZING air, then the S-Curve is nice. They throw in the vertical turn which is a really good head chopper effect, and the Stengel...thing, is a keeper. They throw in a last hill of airtime, and it's done.
In my opinion, this is the best coaster Cedar Point has installed since Millenium Force, and I think it's going to stay that way for a long time.
Props to Cedar Point.
Well I'm off to ride Maverick again, and again and again...
That does it! Now I'm really jealous of anyone who gets to go to Cedar Point. So many coasters and other rides I want to try there because they look so awesome. And I'll probably try all of them at least once if I ever get the chance to go, even if there are some coasters that people say "Don't ride it. It's rough." At least I know Maverick isn't really rough. I want some rich friend to go there with who can pay for everything for both of us.
Hee hee, look. I have a signature thingy um, thing.
Big hint right here, BE A SINGLE RIDER!
In the queue house before the stairs, a grouper will periodically come down and ask for single riders to come up. You'll get put on right away.
I also met Tony from the OnPoint! Blog last night at Coastermania. He's quite the character.
I saw 'em all. They're all pretty good and make me want to go there so badly that I might just cry that I have no job and no money, not to mention no rich friends that could help me out in this matter and most importantly, know how to drive. I want to go to Cedar Point. If I never go there before I die, I will not die a happy man.
