Kingda Ka at sfga?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby twixmix0303 on November 13th, 2005, 9:15 pm
Chances are we wouldn't get one in the near future, just because dollar for dollar, the water park brings in more attendance than any roller coaster would. If we did get it, though, chances are American Eagle would be gone by then, and it could take its place.

keep your fingers cross maybe will get it this year :D It would fit around the eagle i think i dont know im not the one who made the ride so i dont know how big the ride is what is the lenght of KK anyways but pay attention to the gurnee village board if we get any coaster at all, because sfga probably will have to get their approval before puting in a ride which sucks gvb takes in so much taxpayers money might as well let six flags put what they want and increase theyre attendance to get more tax money to gurnee to be spend by the gvb.

Are you crazy.....youre being sarcastic...correct?
"keep your fingers crossed", yeah me too but does the 330ft. height limit ring a bell?
I would love to get a strata as well(not a KK)...but for this upcoming 2006 season it doesnt sound likeley. For one the restriction needs to be pushed up to hmmm....530ft. and also, Intamin needs a longer period of time for construction with these goliath size of coasters  I would want something more simple and larger than that of Kingda KA(505ft., 133mph. and appear just as TTD but include two 270degree spins.) anyways...we all have our hopes :?

yes it will be a miracle if we get it
yes we do have our hopes. Hey youll never know maybe the gurnee village board will let them built it they let them built HH and raging bull and the tower or whatever you call it is more than 300ft if you include the flags on top so maybe theyll let them built kk someday and vote on increasing the height limit to 500 to 1000ft. Besides if we dont get anything new in 2006 youll get board with the same attraction over and over again. we want a coaster sfga in 06 not a waterpark addition.

See as I've stated before, if we were to get a 400-500ft. strata coaster I would like to have it TTD like simple, not KK like. Sometimes the simplicity of a coaster can pack a punch as with these two stratas, but as well as compact coasters too. So....what Im sayin' is that a TTD model would be nicer than an element packed coaster that'll just use more space :? but thats just my opinion...

I like ttd a lot better than kk. If they build a taller version of ttd it would be good.

Then we all look at Cedar Point with their Wicked Twister and Top Thrill Dragster....

I would not want a clone of TTD or a clone of KK. We need to height of Top Thrill Dragster and the elements alone the lines of Kanonen or Storm Runner. In other words, a $40,000,000 project.

We? Personally, I'd rather take a brand spankin' new waterpark addition than a new coaster.

Alright look at it this way.

A waterpark, can provide a lot more entertainment than a roller coaster.

You can have a whole day in a waterpark, and two minutes on a rollercoaster. Sure, I love coasters, but theres a buisness behind all of this.

 *GASP*

Ugh, who knows...its probable and likley and we'll wait to find the truth....

So...The whole KK @ SFGAm topic...I was wondering if Intamin were to create a tall 500ft.+ coaster if it was possible that the downward twist could go 450degrees? This is likely, correct? Just been wondering for a while now.

450 degrees on a 500 footer? Possibly. Anyway, I rode Kingda Ka and I can tell you now it's nothing spectacular. It lasts around 30 seconds, the drop isn't that scary unless you hate heights (if you hate heights you shouldn't be riding coasters anyway). While a 450+ft tall coaster probably would be approved, I wouldn't really care. Besides, your only 5 1/2 hrs away from Cedar Point and a 420ft coaster.

Oh  , if a strata were approved, Im sure you'll be happy for GAm.

Its a big deal, but a giga would or should at least, come before a strata...but where's the land for that?

I had an idea that sfgam would build a floorless with the exact same design as demon and build it in demons old footprint and it would go through the tunnels and stuff. But then I thought that demons a great ride already and doesnt need replacing.

Demon's layout is kind of plain. A floorless with the same layout would be a waste.

Well said galvan...

Anywho, I think a strata(not KK), would be awsome for the height n' speed. However a giga isnt the same thing as a hyper or Bull...Maggie and Millie (MXL200, MF) are different and cedar point did it...A giga would be nice for a greater height and have a constant fast speed throughout it's course
