New concrete footers at CP!

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

very, very true

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

I'm not setting anything in stone yet.

I've seen pictures of 3 and 4 rail track.
Referring to the link on RCDB, I in fact do see both 3 and 4 rail track.

Once I can see a full layout of the footers, this may be easier.

The sets of footers are too close together to be a flyer in the inverted position. It could be in the upright, but I don't know Intamin's support style all to well.

If it is AquaTrax, maybe Intamin may attempt to use the Hydraulic System instead of LIM's?

Just putting some ideas on the table.

I still think it would be a neat idea to add an enormous Roller Soaker there to not only replace the water ride, but to add a family feel to that side of the park. Wouldn't that be neat to also make it so it goes over Lake Erie, too!

Anyway, that probably isn't happening and i'm thinking a dueling Flyer.

Looks like my water coaster hopes might actually come true!! :D

I sure hope so, that would be a great addition if it is. And to think the guy behind me in line for V2 yesterday said that it was going to be a 570 foot coaster with 17 inversions.

Only one in existence could refer to a 4D as well. 4D's have 4 rails and I think now 3. I dont know if CP would take a risk in buying a 4D but it would be cool if they got one.

/\ True, but there are now 2 4D coasters in the world, which are both made by Aero. This coaster is an Intamin coaster, the track clearly shows that, and I doubt Intamin is going to put a 4D coaster since they already have enough problems.

What a bummer, we checked out of Breakers Express yesterday morning and didn't even see this site. That would have been cool to see.

For those going soon take the train ride from the front station to the mean streak station and you get a REALLY good view of the site. It amazes me how much they get done in one day. I looked at it Monday and was impressed, then looked again later on Tuesday and it looked like a whole new site with how much work they did.

Can't wait to see it again at CoasterMania...

Oh and another tidbit of info...on some poles around the site they make several references to "Backing up". (reverse). Like "Back up, we are under construction" and "We are going in a whole new direction". Take that for what its worth...

Something tells me this new coaster may be somewhat alike to Storm Runner....

From what Ive noticed, the 2 pieces are 3-tubed. On stormrunner, the 0-G Roll has the same track design as you can see in this picture..

That gives me the impression that it quite possibly will have loops and the trains will have OTSR's.

If any more track arrives and begins to speculate something else, just scrap this idea.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:

Okay it HAS to be a hydraulic launched coaster..

These pieces match almost PERFECTLY

No offense, but similar pieces may not mean anything.

I hope it does though.

A thought that came to my head, the footprint dosen't suggest height, but maybe Hydraulic Launch with most inversions?

I am still sticking with the aquatrax coaster. It is a LIM, so it still is launching. Maybe dueling aquatrax?? :D

The other 4D is being built so technically theres one. I posted my comment on the 4D before seeing any pictures.

Heres the Intamin models where there is one in existence. Aquatrax, Giga, Half Pipe (20m), Mine Train, Space Diver, Spiral, and an Unknown. If you want you can count Linear Gale and Volcano: The Blast Coaster.

I will rule out Giga, Mine Train, Space Diver, Spiral, and the Unknown. Obviously CP has a Giga and a Arrow Mine Train. The Unknown type never opened. The Space Diver and Spiral have different track.

From what I recall, Intamin does NOT categorize their halfpipes by height.

An Intamin Aquatrax coaster uses LIM's as the method of propulsion.

I don't think Aquatrax will be the style. I'm going to go with 2,
either Storm Runner style or Volcano: The Blast Coaster. I don't
think that they'd do a Aquatrax, cause, I know the guy who designs
coasters for Cedar Point is retiring after this coaster, and I know he'll
want to go out with a bang! Worlds Most Inversions? Possibly.

Could it possibly be like Xcelerator? by that, I mean could it have its huge hill (in this case, 500ft) and then have a bunch of elements after it? After all, Xcelerator is at Knotts Berry Farm, and KBF is a Cedar Fair park.

TTD is just a bigger and faster Xcelerator without the turns and dives Xcelerator has. I'm going with the Aquatrax coaster.

Would an aqua trax possibly have the option to change directions in the middle?

I'm torn right now, I still think that it will be an Aqua Trax, however, I can't help but go back to the guy behind me in line for V2, a 500+ coaster with 17 inversions sounds like it might have a slight chance of being real after all. 8)
