I can't believe that they're actually using the SLC. I thought those would all be scrapped. I don't mind them, but they are rough.

I passed astroworld on 610 yesterday. It looks like they still have a lot of work to do. I got a few pics and i'll post them when i get back. Right now i'm enjoying the sunny 73 degree weather of south padre island. Ha ha to you foot of snow folks!

Anyway...I would have liked to go to sfaw, it looked like a cool park, i don't really know anything about it though.

The 610 Limited Railroad that was at Astroworld has been relocated. Two of the diesel locomotives, one that is a sister to the trains at Great America, have been moved to SFOG. All other railroad equipment like crossing signals have been moved there as well.

The "Cannonball" steam locomotive will be up for auction in January, hopefull sold to someone who will use it as a locomotive and not for scrap price.

^ The park was poor at best.... Nothing really too look forward too. Yes, it sucks that theres one less amusement park, but When I went to SFAW I hated the place.

Lets hope some of the rides find new homes elsewhere so you can enjoy them at other parks.

I meant 610 as in the road that circles the greater houston area.

I know. But I was just reporting the fate of the train at Astroworld. Funny how the railroad is named after a highway.

I still like parks no matter how poor they are... it doesn't bother me much, but seeing pictures of the deconstruction does.

Their Batman standup, I beleive, needs to be scrapped. It truly stood as a bad coaster, I mean its been through alot and they left it there to rot and rust. The park itself did appear as a "poor" park, and I have family down there that say they'll never visit it again cause it just wasnt well run...ha, to their suprise at that comment :o

Batman The Escape looks like it might fit well at a smaller park such as six flags america.

Its a pretty big coaster. If you look at its old pics. when it was Shockwave at SFMM & SFGAd, youll see its a long coaster.

B:TE was a decent standup. It was a nice coaster that got better when it was painted. I'm sure it will be reconstructed somewhere else.

^^I think Great America should get Astroworlds Ferris Wheel. We totally need one of those. Who else seconds that?

Quite honestly the only thing our park really needs from Astroworld coaster wise would be Mayan Mindbender or XLR-8. I think Mayan Mindbender would be good since we really only have one other dark ride in the park, but XLR-8 would be cool too because its something the park doesn't have at all.

Flat wise I don't really know, SWAT obviously looked really cool to me, and I think we could use another really thrilling flat ride.

Or how about the Astroway? It would just be an easier way of getting from one side of teh park to the other without using the train.
