The only reason that florida gets some more powerful storms is because they get more storms on a day by day basis. Chicago has FAR fewer days with thunderstorms than florida does.
Thunderstorms on the great planes and midwest are some of the most powerful storms mile by mile than any other event on earth. One midwest thunderstorm may contain the energy equivelent to many atom bombs. Midwest thunderstorm tops often reach well over 40,000 feet and sometimes bust through the tropopause. Florida thunderstorms are often low topped cells that do not contain large powerful updrafts.
I would pick a midwest supercell over a florida thunderstorm any day.

This Sox Yanks series has me in deep conflict. On one hand, I despertly hope that the Sox loose. On the other, I have an undieing hatetred twords the Yankees. So this series has been tough. I guess I would of pulled for the Sox at the beggining, but now I hope the Yankees sweep the Sox at home.
This is the last Sox Yankees series of the year (I'm confident they wont meet in the post season), so it is the only time that I will ever wish the Yankees or Sox to win.

The pen was awesome today. Dr. Zero, Cotts, and Koch all did a great job.
If you notice Dr. Zero keeps being used more and more as the season goes on. Take away the first outing at Yankee Stadium and he has been DARN good. Great scouting and pick up.
On Tuesday April 20th 2004, Deadly Tornadoes Struck Utica Illinois, Leveling the Historic Town and Killing 8 people. That same storm system headed north and struck Joliet causing millions of dollars worth of damage. Now the RedCross and WGN TV and Radio need your help
