DominatorDude, Goliath was purchased and already being constructed before Shapiro even got ahold of the company. I'm not referencing what has been done in the past, i'm emphasizing what is being done under the new leadership.
Coasterboy, What do those previous owners have anything to do with Six Flags owning it now? I have no idea what that means in relation to Six Flags having it now, unless they don't own it.....
RagingBullFan, thanks for the clarification, i was quite confused for some reason earlier.
Overall, guys, i'm just saying that those would be what i think are going to go yet, it's not something i feel strongly about and not something i'm declaring as fact, just answering the topic....

Chitown, i was unaware of Six Flags not entirely owning SFOG, but i guess my question would be why the lack of attention? Or for that matter, since Six Flags obviously puts money towards the park, why CAN'T they drop the park? It's dropping involvement, not selling it off....

Where is the lack of attention to SFOG that you talk about? Goliath was put in 2006. Sure, it was put in before Shapiro could stop it, but it still was put in. 2007 year saw no new additions. 2008 will see Thomas Town. Regardless of what you think, the park got a huge coaster 2 years ago, and they are now adding a kids area in 2008.
SF is satisfying the investors that own the park. They don't require major additions every year.
Sure, DV is being removed, but I don't think the current owners of the park care that it is going because they know it barely operated.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I don't beleive it was officially released but I imagine yes, they are paying off the 2.1 billion dollar debt, not to mention the significant company-wide capitol expansion plan this season, as well as doing crazy things like buy stock for food and merchandise locations, cleaning supplies, and paying their employees.
Six Flags does need to do something about the coasters and stuff at SFNO that still works. That place can't remain dormant forever. I do get the idea of moving the coasters further from the city like over by Metarie or Slidell, maybe build something by lake Ponchartrain.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
if SF had acted faster getting stuff out of there, the damage would have been limited to electronic and minor mechanical, both easily repairable, but with how long the stuff sat there and with all the nasty water that seeped into stuff, I'm sure most stuff there it structurally deficient by now.

I understand the lack of need to add something every year, and trust me, i'm not one of those dudes that cries when parks add kiddy rides, cause i personally feel them to be awesome additions sometimes. I guess i've gotten the feeling that the park is skipped over every year, but that has to do with Goliath, i'm sure, i don't know exactly why i feel that way.
