How many times (if all) did you go upside-down on Power Surge? Were you alone, or not, and where was the carnival located at (unless it was a amusement park)? Was it All Star Amusement?

Lets see i dont know, i had my eyes shut the first time i went on it. the Second i think it was round 7 times im not sure exactly your going so fast it seems like only a little bit but i couldnt keep track and No i wasnt alone i went with my cuzin Sarah Down in FLorida. It was at the Florida State Fair in 2003. I went there for a vacation but only for my aunt and uncle. They happen to tlel us the Fair was going on so i was like HELL YES! srry but i love carnivals.
You could not pay me enough to get on a carnival ride. Something about how often they put up the ride then take it down then put it up and then take it down... uh no... not for me. I went on a carnival ride about 4 years ago and almost had a panic attack on the ride because I was that freaked out.
This weekend in Lisle, IL there is the eyes to the skies festival (lots of hot air balloons), and All Around is doing the rides, at this spot are 2 of the most intense rides ever created (for sheer long duration intensity), SCAT and Force 10. Just walked though the grounds tonight as they were setting up, everything looks nice and there is also a Kamikaze, Himmy, Tilt, Expo wheel, Fury, and all the usual stuff.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073
Man, this annual carnival in my town is too different from previous years. It has almost none of the same rides, I was really disappointed. I had already been on the rides at other carnivals, so I felt no need to ride them. Except for the awesome Turbo Force, I went on that twice. That ride has to be most fun at night. But seriously, it was better when it had the Himalaya, Zipper, Super Sizzler, Gravitron, the ferris wheel, and all those other rides... I don't know where I'll find a carnival like that again.

From I-88, exit Rt. 53 South, about 1.5 miles to Eyes to the Skies. Unfortunately, parking is scarce and you probably end up pay $5 for it.
One lot I know of is Reidy's Tee Time, from 88 continue on 53 south to Maple Ave. (Intersection: Jewel, BP, Shell, Empty Lot) turn right, going West. Reidy's will be just down the hill.

That sounds like Windy City Amusements to me. They have all those rides.
What is a Turbo Force?? What other rides that you don't like do they have over wherever there is?
To me, Force 10 is a complete bore (to FParker). Someone has told me that it has more forces than an Orbiter. I think an Orbiter has more forces. There are alot more intense rides than this. I don't see how All Around go buy this ride in place of Bumper Cars. Bumper Cars are a seller at carnivals which means that they bring in people!!!

Taste of Lombard is this weekend (isnt someone on here from there?). Theres all kinds of stuff but the rides last year were just okay...
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Yep, Windy City Amusements. Now it's Spectacular Midways.
Just go to spectacularmidways.com and they have it somewhere on that site. It's about 150 feet tall and the ride experience is a little similar to the Zipper. I remember they had a double swinging inverter, swings, some new Ricochet ride, and other stuff that just doesn't interest me much. I'm not sure if I want to go back on Tuesday to get wristbands and ride all the rides, but I probably will end up going.
Do you have to pay extra for that Turbo Force ride? In other words, can you get that with a wristband, or not? Also, how was that Ricochet if you did go on it? It looks like it might be really boring. Does it go really fast, or really slow? What type of swings were these?

I did not go on Ricochet. It looked really slow though. All I did was Turbo Force in the daytime and at night, since that ride takes 5 tickets, and we paid $20 for 20. It was a total waste. But I'd say Turbo Force was worth it. No, you do not have to pay extra for Turbo Force.
I'm not sure what swings it has. It definitely has the Hurricane though. On Tuesday I'll probably end up going on all the rides, if not, I'll just ride Turbo Force a bunch of times.
An accident almost happened on the Turbo Force today. We were about to get on in a couple of minutes. There were two guys operating it, one at the operating table thingy and one letting people on and off. The guy who was operating it at the time was a newer employee. They were just talking about how tonight was going to be like a test for him or something, to see if he'll stay, which was a weird coincidence because of what happened RIGHT after they were talking about it. Then it was time to let people off. They first had two girls get off on one side, and then all of a sudden, the platform started lowering and the ride started up. The girls had to run off of the platform fast before getting hit by the other car. The guy who was letting the people off of course freaked out and told the new employee to get away from the ride. He was later at the Fun Slide, heh. I'm not sure if he pressed a button or what, since we weren't looking at the time. It was a little scary, I got freaked out myself. Some people left the line. We were up next and I felt nervous about what just happened. But we went on it and are alive.
And I found out that the Ricochet isn't slow, it gets fast, and you can spin the car around. No we did not go on it.
Is everyone's fairs in large areas? Because it seems like these fairs people are talking about have a lot of rides.
The fair that comes around by me doesn't have a ton of rides, but you'd be amazed at how much they can fit in this small area. There's an area near there that has a lot more room, not sure why that spot's not used. (I know the carnies don't decide where but yeah.) Plus it has more parking...
Has anyone ever heard of Screamer?? It's really fun.
Other ones I like are Tilt-A-Whirl, something kind of like Trailblazer, and Pharoah's Fury (River Rocker).
Yep, though I perfer the Fabbri Kamikaze2 over the ARM Screamer. Fabbri has 2 arms and is inverted with no floor at all, ARM has that strip of floor right under your feet (well it's there on the Fabbri but in a place where you cant reach when seated).
Zamperla Hawk is better than both (but none are portable in the states), however the best of the best which happens to be park models only is the Vekoma AirJumper as featured at SFNE and Frontier City.
The Moser Hoppla's look fun also, but I have never ridden (can tell you what it's like in about 2 months though after my trip to Europe)

There's are pictures of the Screamer, and the High Flyer.
(All Around Amusements has two arms while Fantasy only has one arm.)
Right click open in new window because it's been just opening it in this window, and it closes this.)
Sedir, what carnival rides do you have at your carnival, and what company is it?? Over here in Norridge, we have Windy City's second unit. They have the red Zipper, Tilt-A-Whirl, Pharoah's Fury, Eli 16 (Ferris Wheel), Gravitron.

^I see you don't like Chicago. What carnival do you like if any at all. You probably don't like any.

Wow I had some amazing Zipper rides tonight. The odd thing though was that we didn't have that much weight, yet we still flipped a ton. Mmmm I can still feel it.
to much competition in Chicago, though Windy City is one of the larger Carnival Companies in the US, with 70 rides 10-20 games and even their own concessions.

sorry... guess i really didnt specify.
I was not reffering to ride selection, as they do have one of the largest selections around... and I have taken a tour of their maintenance shop.
But the last two events I've been too hosted by Windy City, both have had power issues, forcing a couple rides and even in some cases, concessions to shut down.
Now, albeit The shows that im talking about were likely their 3rd or fourth unit, figuring out how much power a set amount of rides/concessions is a pretty simple thing in the amusement world... and whether it be a failure, or just a bad miscalculation.... I found it odd that it would happen twice!
